In this video we are going to see create and remove directory commands. So let's get started. So here the first command is MK dir This means make directory so with this command we can create directories. So let's first of all list the directories. So these are the directories that we have currently. Now I'm going to create a directory.
So MK dir space, the name of the directory that we want to create. So a B, C. Now, let's list the directories. So as you can see here that the directory with ABC name is created. Now if I want to remove this directory, then I can do that using RM dir And space name of the directory that is ABC and lists the directories. So the directory with the name specified here that is ABC is removed. Now, if you want to copy or directory from one directory to another, then we can do that using CP.
So let's create a directory MK dir ABC and let's create another directory x y Zed. So we have two directories here, ABC and XYZ. Now let's copy the ABC directory into this x y, z directory. So CP space. First we have to specify the directory that we want To be copied, so that is ABC. And then the destination where this ABC directory is to be copied that is x y Zed, so and so here, the problem was we haven't specified our so let's go to hell.
So we will need to specify this dash r option for copying files. So as you can see here, we have copied the ABC into x, y, z directory. So let's see. So we have two directories now let's go to Xyz directory. And that's list and as you can see here, the ABC directory is copied here successfully. Now if you want to move a directory from one place to another, or from one directory to another, then we can do that as well.
So So now, what I'm going to do is I'm going to move the XYZ directory into this ABC directory. So we have to use every command and we then XYZ, then where we have to move it. So we have to move this directory, ABC directory. And it's done. Unless as you can see here, we have moved the XYZ directory so it has been deleted from here, and let's see if it is in the ABC directory. So we'll be changing the directory to ABC and LS.
So here, we have The XYZ directory now let's see, if we have the copied ABC directory in this XYZ. I'm going to change the directory to Xyz and LS and we have our ABC directory. So this is how you can copy, remove more and create directories in Linux.
