To forgive, avoid ruminating on thoughts of being wronged. Rather, you trust the power of forgiveness to heal the hurt and pain. By holding on to pain and resentment, you suffer because the sorrow is intensified to keep it alive.
Despite people’s perceptions that forgiveness means to forget, its motive is preserved in self-forgiveness and the role you play to co-create the circumstances. This does not mean you consented to what transpired. Given your involvement, even as a victim, you forgive yourself regardless of the role you played.
Forgiveness means to let go of hatred, instead of allowing it to eat at you.
This course is designed to help you learn to forgive yourself and others if you want to be free of toxic emotions. It is an insight into learning about the power of forgiveness and whether you are ready to forgive others who may have wronged against you.

You cannot find peace and contentment when you are trapped in the past, reliving old memories and bringing them into the present moment. By letting go of the pain of the past, you learn to find freedom in the present moment.

The power of forgiveness is powerful in so far as it releases you from being bound to another person and allows you to find peace of mind. The power of forgiveness means not to forget the past but look upon it in an entirely new way.
4. Don't Take Things Personally:
If you always take things personally, you will be hurt and experience pain and suffering because you are at the mercy of other people who dictate how you feel. When you learn to let go and not take things to heart, you will find inner peace and joy because you are not bound to what others do or say.

Self-love is an important component to forgiveness because if we cannot learn to love ourselves then we cannot forgive ourselves, irrespective of whether pain was inflicted by us or to us. Self-love is an act of self-compassion and self-forgiveness which opens the door to healing.
