Tea is a general term for making a water based herbal extraction. Water is one of the primary ways to draw up therapeutic properties of certain herbs. some herbs require hot water, others require cold water. It all depends on the plant and how you intend to use it. Let's look at water based extractions and define them a little further. I like to use three different terms for differentiation, tea, standard infusion, and nourishing herbal infusion.

These three drinks in the image you see were all made with the same herbs, but you see how the color is drastically different in each. This is because each drink has a different quantity, a verb and a different steeping time, the more herb you use, and the longer the herb steeped in the water, the more the properties, the phytochemicals, the vitamins, minerals and volatile oils are drawn out, and the more medicinal the beverages. Now let's dive into each one separately. First we have our T. T is a simple hot beverage that uses very little amount of herbs and sleeps for very little time. teas are consumed less with therapeutic intention in mind and more for the enjoyment of drinking a hot beverage. Because they aren't made with a lot of her know that they stick for very long, you aren't extracting a whole lot of medicine.

However, what teas are great for is as an act of self love and self care. And as a way to give yourself a minute or two to rebalance, and recenter I have a toddler and he gets into everything. He is exploring and doing exactly what he should we do it but naturally chasing him around the house and cleaning up His endless messes. Tap dances on my nerves, but you know what always calms me down a fresh cup of tea. I'll just grab any herb from my apothecary to be honest and make a cup because it's quick warming and nourishing. It feels like taking a deep exhale.

It's like that deep relaxing feeling after a rescue To the other class, that feeling that says I could continue on for another day. And let's run through the steps of making a tea. For one cup of tea, you'll need an eight ounce mug and one teaspoon of your herb or blend. Put your infuser into your mug and add the one teaspoon of herbs into the infuser. Pour eight ounces of fresh boiled hot water into your diffuser soaking the herbs. Cover the infuser and let it steep for five minutes.

After five minutes, remove the user from your cup and voila, you have a nice cup of hot tea. For a delicious hot beverage, you can use just about any herb you want. aromatic herbs the ones that smell really fragrant are especially nice for teas because the short story times release that strong flavor without making it overbearing or turning bitter or too pungent. Here are some herbs that I like to make into a simple tea along with some of their benefits. Peppermint is a super popular herb I'm sure you've heard of. if for no other reason then it's probably in your toothpaste, known for its refreshing and cooling taste.

Peppermint is also commonly used in soaps, baths, and even haircare products. It's a full service stomach and digestive aid that also supports respiration, muscle tension and circulation. It's a cooling stimulant antispasmodic and nervy lavender I'm also sure you've heard of it is such a popular and versatile herbs that it is used in body care products cooking recipes, popery, candles, and of course in teas and other herbal medicine preparations. In addition to its calming effects, it has a number of therapeutic benefits. Such as being good for headaches, colic, insomnia, the flu and digestive upset. It's an uplifting and gentle Nervous System Restore, defer.

It reduces mental tension. It's antispasmodic cognitive content inflammatory and relaxing. nettle. And now I mentioned metal a few times here because it's such a powerfully nutritive plant. And by far one of the herbs that I use the most. a multivitamin in and of itself, metal nourishes and strengthens the kidneys, liver, lungs and digestion.

It heals damaged tissues supports the whole body, it's nutritive alternative hemostatic and kidney Li ribose, or bush t comes out of South Africa and it's the first adaptogenic herb we'll talk about here. broadly defined adaptogenic herbs increase the body's resistance to stressors, both external stressors such as those induced by the environment, or internal stresses trigger. By exercise, diet and lifestyle, Royal says just that through its ability to protect the cells from damage. It's also anti inflammatory, antioxidant, antiviral and used for a number of illnesses like allergies, depression, eczema, hypertension, as well as for cardiac and kidney problems. camomile is a longtime favorite of mine. I remember drinking it as a child and feeling so calm and protected.

An excellent remedy for a number of digestive and uterine complaints, especially when coupled with nervousness tension and anxiety. It's soothing, tonic, sedative and reduces tantrums in both children and adults.
