DESCRIPTION: Contending with road rage
Road rage: we’ve all witnessed it, if not experienced it. The first use of the term “road rage” is attributed to Los Angeles news station KTLA after reporting a series of freeway shootings in 1987. Road rage is defined by the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) as when “a driver commits moving traffic offenses so as to endanger other persons or property; an assault with a motor vehicle or other dangerous weapon by the operator or passenger of one motor vehicle on the operator or passengers of another motor vehicle.” Basically, any sort of violent or aggressive behavior that occurs on a road, or involves a car, could be considered an act of road rage. So, if someone is guilty of breaking the rules of the road and upsets you, you must be capable of de-escalating yourself (of course, a generally useful tool.)
