DESCRIPTION: Active shooter disarm at the door entrance

This is a counter-ambush tactic used by either one determined individual or group of individuals to seize the gunman's weapon at the entrance of a room. The defenders may "stack" on either side of the door, however, given that most gunmen are right-handed, it is preferable to position yourself(ves) on the right side of the door as you exit or the left side of the door that a gunman might enter.
The disarm tactic is similar to the frontal long-gun defense #1 or a variation of this defense against a handgun (for those not skilled in frontal handgun defense #1). As soon as the gunman presents enough of the muzzle through the door, engage him from the dead side. Be sure not to advertise that you are laying in wait by showing any part of your body or casting a shadow silhouette the gunman could recognize.
