Choke release from the ground with the attacker to your side
If an attacker chokes you from a side position while on his knees, he can exert great pressure by leaning his body into the choke. A modification of choke defense #2 will release the chokehold. Use this defense when the attacker is to your side (in this case, the right side) on his knees and your back is against the ground. As with choke release #2, assume the attacker is to your right.

Use your left hand to pluck your attacker&rsquo;s right hand and launch an inside attack (between the attacker&rsquo;s arms) with your other arm to the attacker&rsquo;s eye, jaw, or throat as you transfer your weight to your other shoulder.
(Note: if your attacker is to your left, you will pluck with your right outside hand and counterattack with your left inside hand.)
