In addition to structure, here are other important story elements you need to keep in mind. Again, they most likely are and should already have been considered while writing your novel, but just to remain consistent I’m including them here as elements to consider to make sure you get the results you’re after.
Characters and Character Arc
Some stories feature archetypes, some of which are not necessarily a bad thing — so long as your characters' development aligns with the narrative arc. It’s the idea that your characters must evolve, grow, and change as the story unfolds. They will have to change in order to survive. Even in romance had to evolve as human beings in order to become right for each other and have their HEA (happily ever after) Setting is the most variable element in the romance genre, but the arc the characters go through on the way to finding one another can be just as varied.
