How to make the most of the Film Festival - Part 1:
I could have included this chapter in the connections & networking content of chapter 4. But because it’s one I’m most familiar with and have used consistently, I decided to give it its one chapter. Until about four years ago, I thought film festivals were about screening films. You go, watch new up and coming movies and you go home. Needless to say, I wasn’t terribly interested in traveling all the way to attend one, when I could just as easily wait and watch most of those very same films here at my local theatre. Or even wait for the blurry or until it plays on Netflix. I could not have been more wrong.
Yes, of course, that’s a huge part of what happens at film festivals. But there is so much more, and that’s the important part. Here’s a little bit of back story.
