Why Film Festivals are about More than Films - Part 2
I attend the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) every year now. In fact, ever since that first year, when our days were so jam-packed with meetings with studios, financiers, distributors, etc, that there wasn't time to actually see any films, I've been attending on my own. Film screening still hasn't happened. What does happen? By registering at the professional level and above, (the aforementioned Industry Pass) I gained access to exclusive events and cocktail gatherings and parties, all of which were laced with directors, producers, actors, film stars, and every aspect of the entertainment industry imaginable, and in my case, even beyond those, I'd heard of.
