The Meaning and Importance of Refocusing the Mind
 
There are thousands of thoughts – both conscious and subconscious – that run through our minds at any given moment. The mind must be trained on how to let them go and how to be still.
To refocus the mind, you need to shift from the continuous thoughts that flood your mind to new ones. Next, reducing the number of thoughts going through your mind. Eventually, allowing the mind to focus on one thing. In the end, you ultimately achieve a state of thinking about nothing. The constant thrum of thoughts taking up space in your mind are let go.
Easier said than done, especially without training and practice.
Awareness of thoughts that flow through your mind at any given moment is the first step toward a shift in thinking. The majority of us tend to have negative self-talk and meanderings that take up space in our “mind chatter”. That is unless we have practiced reducing these inner monologues.
