DESCRIPTION:

Use the carving tool to transform your block into a masterpiece. Always carve away from your hand. It can really hurt to carve yourself and leaves a scar. Sometimes using another object to brace your block can be helpful, but you will need to spin that block around to get to the right positions to carve the tiny details. Make sure, when changing the blades, that you insert the neck of the blade between the two pieces that are inside the covering.

To keep your tool bits sharp, do not tap your tool’s blade on the table to remove the carving bits and store the blades upright and towards the opening of the handle. Over time, especially if carving linoleum, you will need to replace the blades. Less likely when carving soft carve.
