In this video, I want to introduce the concept of resistance. Now resistance isn't yet conflict. So what is resistance? Well, resistance is rationally driven. It's a it's a reaction against an imposed idea or an imposed change or set of conditions. Consequently, it's not necessarily going to be disrespectful.
Resistance isn't conflict yet. And neither is it necessarily a reaction to any attempts to diminish your rights or your access to resources. But resistance is uncomfortable. And in order to deal with it in an effective way, we need to understand the different reasons for resistance To help us, I've developed what I call my onion model of resistance. And this onion model sets out a number of layers of resistance. And what we tend to find is that when we unpeel one layer, we get another layer underneath.
And as we work our way down towards the core of the onion, these layers get increasingly hotter and more uncomfortable to deal with. So, in the next video, I'm going to share with you the six layers of the onion model of resistance
