Release the True you Session 1 With Paula Roscoe www.pjroscoe.co.uk Author/Counsellor/Healer/Spiritual Workshop

Facilitator Session 1 – Who are you Take each question and answer as fully as possible, without going through and checking out the other questions or sessions – let the answers come from your inner self, rather than your head. If you scan through, you begin to organize your answers to fit an inner self-preservation narrative. This is NOT your True Self. This is a fearful self and when answers come from 'Fear', they cannot be truthful. Find your courage. You must have accessed it to know that you wanted to offer this gift to yourself I hear you when you feel that you MUST know how this course will unfold, but try not to jump ahead. Let the exercises unfold and trust the process. Trust yourself Allow yourself time to do the writing exercises, followed by the meditation and we'll talk over everything at the end of the six sessions Write your full name. How do you feel when you see your full name If any, what name would you prefer to be known by How are you known in various circles Eg – family, friends, work, strangers, and self. Are you known by your name or title What is your Self Concept Write a short paragraph on ‘Who you are’. Now write a short paragraph on how you believe other people perceive you. there is a difference Now write a short paragraph on how you want others to perceive you/treat you etc. What emotions come up for you when seeing the differences (if any) Can you ask yourself honestly, why am I not the person in paragraph 3 (Who am I) The Self

  • The sum total of all we refer to as ‘mine’
  • It houses our total subjective and interpersonal world
  • It includes our basic beliefs, attitudes, and value
  • It is our Inner World
  • It is ‘me’ and ‘my’ blended into a unique identity.
  • What is/was your position within your family unit now and as a child growing up Do you feel it had any influence on how you were/are treated
  • Write out five positive words you associate with yourself.
  • Write out five negative words you associate with yourself
  • Would anyone in your world agree or disagree with these words
  • What words do you believe people would write about you Positive Negative

Let’s discuss this in session – if not, write down how seeing these words makes you feel. Do any of the words you wrote, and those you believe others would write match If not, why do you think that is How would you describe yourself to a stranger In full detail, from physical to attributes - tell them Who You Are Handout for this session – Roles you play in your life. Tick the ones you want to continue to be and cross the ones you want to give up. Add any roles to the list that you play/prefer to let go of. Home Exercise Go to a large mirror or reflection where you can see most if not all of yourself. Really look at yourself. Take in everything from your head to your toes if possible. See what the reflection has to say: Truth stares back at you. Own it. It isn’t your Father or Mother, or spouse, children, or friend, whose judgment you must pass The person whose verdict counts most in your life Is the one staring right back. Author Unknown Thank you for being you and showing up, and stepping up to this challenge. Your handout and a meditation on ‘Meeting Yourself with Love Acceptance’ is available in materials or sent to you following this session if not on LearnDesk. If you feel able, please do the meditation when you will not be disturbed for at least half an hour to allow yourself time to relax, listen and process what comes up for you in your own time. Try to listen at least once and allow yourself to just flow with it. Try not to judge yourself harshly. Observe your reactions. Allow them to come forward. Don’t hold back. Don’t diminish your feelings, thoughts, and actions. Write them down to discuss if you feel able at the next session or during our counseling session at the end of the course.
