In Lesson One, we will cover how to balance the action orientation. Entrepreneurs tend to be strongly action oriented and often necessary trait in the daily handling of multiple tasks, being able to see and grasp an opportunity in the long run, this needs to be balanced with reflection, to actually choose between different goals and possibilities, and to be able to foresee what may be wise to prepare for strong action orientation balanced with reflection. This is what this lesson is all about. In the fast and moving world over the entrepreneur, time to reflect often vanishes as the entrepreneur gets caught up in day to day work. First thing to do is to probe to what extent you're used to moving between reflecting and acting mode in order to create a balance between the two. How and when did you do that?

How do we recognize when we are in action mode? Action mode we want things to happen. We are quick, we get an ID and we do it. We are doers really do us. In reflection mode. We probe, we think about things.

We give it a second thought, perhaps a third thought, we'll look at pros and cons. But we also look at how does this resonate in my values? How does this sound? How does this feel? What does this do to me? And this takes a little bit of time.

This takes a bit of consciousness. And being in action mode often stimulates doing quickly. Being in reflection mode might in the beginning feel as something slowing you down. And you don't have to do it all the time. You just need to think of when you allow yourself to be in reflection mode. Do you do it regularly.

Do it from time to time. Try to find a way to be regular in this to really Connect what you're doing with where you want to go and who you want to be. That is the basics of balancing. Often the entrepreneurial personality starts up with concrete action plans. Being in doing mode is familiar and has been very successful in taking them this far. And they will continue to be helpful.

It's not like we want to get rid of them. We just want to add the be part as well. To create sustainable goals and results. Doing and being. It may take some time to get used to not be given the quick answers, but rather the time to reflect upon underlying patterns and reoccurring events. Over the time power of reflection before acting grows.

The more used to staying in reflection mode you get, the more reflection and strategy becomes your main issues, expanding perspectives and letting more information into the process before deciding on action. This really doesn't have to take a long time. You just internalize in yourself, the process of being the process of reflecting. And then you know that your quick decisions are in line with where you want to go. Action orientation is still there and it has to be, you're still a quick Dewar, but the process of reflecting and the connection to values and goals will create for you a firmer ground for your actions to really take you where you want to go. Not just running around in circles, it gets so boring and tiresome.

You want your actions to really get you somewhere and you know where you want to go. So let that action orientation work for you for real, and you do that by balancing it with reflection and connecting it to your values. values are important for entrepreneurs. Remember, let's step into simple practice of balancing action and orientation. Here's something you can do, and you can get used to doing it. It's easy, I call it Why, why?

Why? The Three Wise, in every plan you make, make time for at least three. Why? Why are you doing this? And whatever answer you had on the first question, why is that important? And then the third, why?

This is a simple way of getting to the core of what you're doing and why. being clear on values and being clear of your fundamental goals, gives direction to your actions, and that sustains and creates truthful success. You do the things that are important to you. You won't wake up one day realizing you become someone you don't want to be. Even if things happen so fast. You don't always really have the time to think I don't expect you to do the three wise in every single decision.

But as you make plans as you line up directions as you do the overall view, always make time for the three wise. Really, it's easy and you'll get used to it. And you'll start doing it more and more often and you will know why you're doing things. And if there is no good answer to the three wise, then don't do it. It's probably not a good idea. Okay, have fun practicing.

See you again in next lesson.
