You can fake it till you make it. See the trick behind dancing and letting everybody think that you know what you're doing is you just move a part of your body to the beat. And it's a good beginning. And with public speaking, you're going to be freaking out inside. And on the ad side you really have to fake it until you make it to catching up and then you can be natural because that's what you want to be you want to be as naturally you as possible and you want to keep everything in control. So we know all our crafts and everything but inside How do I make people think Feel that everything's going okay.

I have had an instance where I've actually crazy and I've had to go teach a public speaking course, I really have to be the example. And on the way they believe it or not, a guy hits the side of my car with a washing machine on a trolley. And it's my wife's car and is comfortable and everything falls of the trolley and is a big noise. The police arrived, fortunately and asked the police officer, How's it look? And he said, it looks fine. And I was so upset, because I wasn't paying attention.

That when I parked the car at the event, I didn't even want to look at the car. Because if I looked at the car and I go inside, I'm going to be even more freaked out. I took a deep breath and I walked inside. Inside here. I've come from that. But now I have to deliver because that's my job, isn't it?

I have to affect change in an audience and that's how we judge it. My intent is to affect change. And what I say needs to affect the change. And it was a very successful day. And sometimes you can actually use the story. Like comedians, I got on the way here I was in a taxi and the taxi said that we use our stories around us to bring us into it.

That's a very important part of faking it until you make it and then as I said to you is your eyes Your eyes are very, very important. If you are not going to keep an eye contact as soon as you do this, people are going to go there's something wrong. must be very, very careful, is eye contact from the very beginning you keep eye contact, even if you are not able to connect, keep our contact and if you can't look at them in the eyes remember look at is if you far enough the ears they turn or they forward or between the eyes and remember to scan your audience. And then also another thing is is that your clothes that you are wearing are very important. If you feeling good in your clothes. People will look and say Ah, he's got what it takes to remember we've got those 40 seconds and then of course your body Language, your body language making nice and big, open palms is very important.

If I'm bringing my palms towards me, then I'm hiding something. If I'm going to be standing like this because I'm so upset with what happened outside, or I'm upset with the audience, then it's going to show I've got to fake it. If I want my hands to go all over the place, and I'm going to start scratching because I'm nervous inside. I hold my hands and I speak from my hands. And that's going to help me fake it because the inside of them actually freaking out. And remember to control your ass.

Remember not to stare at people because then they're going to pick it up. We just carry on doing what we know. And we keep it all under control. And then we will get to a point where you will just go Andy and then it will be smooth running after that. This part is very important. When it comes to faking till you make it don't forget this part the podium.

We Want to leave the podium, the podium is our security 90% of the time there is a podium. For me, I remove the podium. So I don't have to have the stress. But the podium if it's your first time, your first time user of a stage, the podium is not a bad thing. The only problem is you have to say goodbye. You cannot stay here at your podium the whole time.

You've got to go and you've got to move. And you've got to talk to the audience. Remember that our content and the body language you lose body language when you're on the podium, but also we tend to lean and we tend to do these moves and we grab really, really tight because we as nervous as anything. And so to fake it. This is what we do. And I have done this when I was taught this is that we actually go and place crosses or marks with tape on the floor.

One meter away, two meters away, and maybe even up to five meters depending on your audience. During Remember if there are any cameras in that you want to make sure it's within the camera zone. Like with me here I am in front of a camera. So I'm going to make sure that I don't move out of the way. But I am going to move for for you This is that you go Okay. Well enter about however habit a habit you have there and you look down at your notes if you have no to give the things and then you go out and you stand on your first cross, you don't look for your cross peripheral vision, you'll find that they you stand you talk to your audience, and then you go Okay, I'll touch a podium now.

And then I'll go stand chair, and then I'll talk talk talk talk. And then I'll come back to the podium, look at my next set of notes. And then occasionally lean in and makes you comfortable, and it's your place of security. podiums can be a safe place to talk from battery mass learn to leave as it is from home. It's not a healthy to stay in one spot you need to get out and wing it but just always remember, keep an eye on your podium and know where it is. That's why the crosses are important because if you to venture out and you get too far and you come back, you could end up falling over your podium, alright?

Podiums are not bad things. They're good things if you use them correctly, but preferably for me, I'd rather not have one. So I can have more connection and there's no separation between me and the audience. Remember, fake it till you make it. You faking it with the stuff you know, you got to be good at what you do and you apply the fake stuff to let people think on the inside the real stuff is all under control. Till next time the power of these dream rings you hear his man, Sean Connery.
