Like the Rachel, I don't care about. I don't care about any of that. I want to know how to prevent dementia. Okay, well, good news, bad news, I have some things to help you. And they're bad news is that they're pretty much the same things that you've been hearing about every disease ever. Right.

So how do we prevent dementia? exercise? eating well, staying socially active. You know, what else be engaging activities, things that engage your mind, really all the stuff that people have been telling you since day one in terms of preventing any thing bad, right? And that is pretty much what we have. Now is, I mean, you could do all this stuff.

Well. My best example is my maternal grandparents both died from cancer. My grandmother died from a malignant brain tumor. And my grandfather had thyroid cancer that spread to his limbs so that they lived really well. They exercise they ate well, they were socially active, they did engaging, active. I mean, they lived very well.

And then they both died from cancer. So there's really no perfect answer, right? I mean, was that their genetics? Like, was that there? Was that their genes? Was that was that their environment?

I don't know. Um, so really, it just goes to show you know, you got to live well. Yeah, well live right. live well, right. How do you do that? Um, people will sometimes ask me like, well, what if I do a crossword every day?

I mean, you can but no real evidence that a crossword every day is going to is going to help prevent anything. Now that's not to say that you shouldn't do it really you want to keep active, your mind your body, your soul, you want to you want to be active, that's the best way to prevent anything. Now, let's take an example. So you have two people. Both are 80 years old. Both are seeing the start of dementia.

One person has a PhD. She is highly active, active in her community. She has a lot of great friends and family around her. She goes out and does things. She does a crossword puzzle every day. She continues to learn and she exercises regularly you know, she takes a brisk walk around the block three times a week.

And then we have some other guy, we have somebody else who we have a woman who has a high school education, she doesn't go out much. She mostly keeps herself she's a little bit lonely, she has some depression, she doesn't really continue to learn or get out there. Now, here's the thing. The person with the PhD that I mentioned, she is potentially going to go downhill a little bit slower than the person who doesn't really get out much do anything has less education, but the person with the PhD because she has such a high level education and was always active involved. We're going to notice her deficits much faster. So that's kind of the interesting part there but she will should go downhill slowly.

Now all that said, even if you do absolutely like you do absolutely everything right, stuffs can still happen. And sometimes what'll happen is someone will get into like a really bad car accident, and then the car accident just kind of send them downhill really quickly. And that's of no fault of their own perhaps, right. So again, hate to say it, good news, bad news time. I have some answers, but there's really not a great answer for preventing it. Just stay active and engaged.

That's that's the best thing I can just the best thing I can say, in all facets of your life and really that's good advice for aging and for life in general.
