Welcome back. So today we're going to be doing the tummy, which is the favorite part for most parents. It helps relieve gas, colic and constipation, even though you can do it every day. So to share a funny story when I myself was going through the training, my daughter at the time was two and she woke up around midnight. And I could tell she was having gasp pain because of the way she was twisting and writhing and her eyes were closed. And I remember that.

In daycare, they said that she had had a lot of sweet potatoes, which at the time I was happy about, but realize that might have hurt her tummy because there's a lot of fiber and sweet potatoes. And so I asked my husband is it Should I try this stroke I just learned and he said sure. And so we opted to do that instead of trying some gas drops. And after a few minutes of stroking her tummy and going through this routine She had an explosive diaper, like so explosive. And there was no point in taking out the wipes to clean it up because it would just be too many. So she and I both jumped into the shower, got her cleaned off, and we came out and we put a nice clean diaper on her.

And she had another explosion. So we jumped back into the shower, we couldn't drop again. And we brought her out and he did have a third diaper but it wasn't explosive did not require a lot of wipes. And my husband says, What did you do? You exploded our daughter. And it's true.

I really did explode her through this one routine, but she had the best night's sleep after that. So I know from personal experience and from countless number of parents that the guest call routine is gold. So before we get there, I want to share a few more strokes. But before we start, we have to make sure that we have addressed our own stress. And so today's guided visualization is called favorite color. And so as you close your eyes with me, I want you to imagine and picture your favorite color and all of the qualities that that might mean for you.

So take a deep breath in. And as you exhale, think about those qualities. Whether it's warm, serenity, excitement adventure. Take another deep breath in. And imagine that color, bathing you as you sit down to massage your baby. Exhale.

And take one last deep breath in and exhale. When you're ready, open your eyes. So let's get started. Again, we're going to disrupt baby asked me And today's oil is castor oil and many of you might have heard from a grandparent great grandparent how back in the day they would ask you to drink a spoon of castor oil to help with any kind of digestive issues. So the benefits of casserole are pretty well known, but it can also help skin and hair health. It can help with improving circulation and enhancing immunity so castor oil is actually a great oil to use on the tummy.

If you choose to use an essential oil phenol is a great one, just one or two drops to add into the castor oil. So the first stroke again, you want to wrap your hands with some of this oil and put it about eight to 10 inches from baby's face and you're asking permission. May I give you a massage today on your tummy and, of course making sure that you have a positive response reading cues Body language, and then you're going to rest your hand on baby's tummy so that they may know that you're going to come there today. So the first stroke is called supported carousel. And that's where you're going to support baby's legs with one of your hands. You're going to take your other hand the blade of the hand, and you're going to start start at the top of the abdomen moving downwards towards the top of the legs.

You can switch hands if that's easier or you can just take one hand and massage a baby. Having the legs raised actually provides additional pressure on their tummy, which will help any kind of digestive issues. So again, firm yet gentle strokes from the top of the tummy downwards towards the legs. And make sure because if they are feeling any kind of digestive challenges, they might be uncomfortable. So this may not feel great to them. So you want to make sure that you're reading cues if you send something you want to stop, especially if they've just eaten and you're giving them a massage before they've had a chance to digest.

The second stroke is called unsupported carousel so you can put baby's legs down and do the same stroke alternating your hands, going from the top of the tummy downwards towards the legs in a slow yet steady pace. The next stroke is called Open door so taking both of your thumbs at the top of the abdomen starting at the center, moving outwards, stroke, babies abdomen and lower chest. As you can see working with a plastic doll you're going to have some unusual noises Easier to massage your real baby. And then the next stroke is called a sun, that moon rise. This one is a little bit tricky. So I'm going to perform the stroke on baby as babies down and then I'll also raise baby up so that you can see for additional guidance.

So you're going to take your left hand and you're going to start at nine o'clock, but the palm of your hand, with your whole hand, you're going to move your hand down to five o'clock. When you get to five o'clock, take your other hand to the top at nine o'clock and bring that one to five as well. So again, left hand nine o'clock, downwards towards five o'clock, right hand, nine o'clock, downwards towards five o'clock. And this stroke you'll see online, but because it's a piece of paper, it's really hard to decide and determine what direction to go And so hopefully this will provide that additional guidance. So as baby asked me, it's a little bit raised, I'm going to again nine to five. So sunset moon rises, sun sets, and moon rises.

This is one of the more impactful strokes, so you'll definitely want to get this one down. The next stroke is called I love you. And this is another one of those where you might see it online, but it's hard to really decipher what side to do it on. So hopefully this video will help make that determination. So the I love you is as a baby's looking down on their tummy and you've traced I love you on their stomach. So you're going to take your two fingers on your right hand and you're going to trace the eye from the top of the abdomen down to the groin.

And then you're going to take the L and you're going to go from nine across to three and then downwards to the leg again. That's L and then you from baby's right leg. Upside down you for you two babies left leg. So again it's I along the right for you the right side of baby's abdomen. Love l sir going from nine for you to three and down to five. And then the you you're going from babies right leg upside down you two babies left.

Showing you with baby asked me up with look like that. I love you. Again, it's I love upside down you The next one is called clockwise. This is great for constipation. So again, you always want to move in the direction of digestion which is clockwise. So baby's constipated, you want to do the strokes around baby's navel moving in a clockwise direction.

So baby is experiencing gas, colic, you can do this Tommy routine four to six times twice a day for at least two weeks. If it's just a spout of gas like my daughter is experiencing, you can do it once and they'll feel the relief immediately. And then you want to end with gentle touch. So resting your hands on baby and gently stroking their tummy to indicate that you're finished. So that's the tummy module and we're looking forward to seeing you next for arms and chest.
