So welcome to the Python program. Today we'll be starting with few of the methods of least that is what we can do using a list. So before starting with a topple, I need to discuss with you this methods of list. So the first method that I use is a pink. So list dot a pink. What is list dot append do this list dot append is append function used to add an element at the end of the list.

So suppose you were going to a market and you were creating a list of items that you want to buy from a store. So first, create a list of the items so I'll just create sorry, bread. Butter thanks rice. Suppose God so these are the few items that you need to buy from a store. So you have created a list and so let's just create it and I'll print that list. So item is the least number name.

So this is a riff that I've created. Now, suppose you forgot to pre add a few items and now you want to add a particular item in the list for that, what you can do is you can just write item dot Apple, and within this first bracket, just write the element that you have covered. So here I will add suppose spices. This element I want to add to my item list. So this then print it. See, spices is now added at the end of that Particular list.

So in this way you can add a particular item or a particular element in the list that is already created. Now the next method that I will do is, is list dot insert. Now, if you want to add a particular element in the list is specific position that is a specific index number. Suppose you want to add a particular item after bread only. So what you can do, you can just write item dot insert, and here you can write the position. So, rate is at index number zero, so, you want to add something after the break.

So, write one and give comma and write that particular item name or the element name within the quotes. So, here I write serious Now print item and see see no serious is added in the second position that is index number one and the rest of the item we now have different index number not because butter was in position one. Now we have added cereal in position one, so bartered is now in position two, and subsequently all these elements will change their position. The next method that I will do is the list dot extent. So what these dot extend do, if you want to combine more than one list, then here you can do it by using this extinct function. So first, for that I need to create one more list so I can one will be one more list that I want to create.

So here I write. So Shamp is to iPad apps. Go and print item one now, I do sorry and do it dot exe stayed within bracket and write the new list name that is item underscore one. Now print item now see what happened first it will print the newly created lease that is item one so I do want is created with Chopin Sam shampoo and next what I've done is item dot extend with workplace name I want to extend this so item dot extend item underscore one so now it has added this to is C it has added this list with the previous one. So soap and shampoo is now added to the previous list. So in this way you can join two different placed into a single one now I'll do next method is list dot remove.

Now if you want to remove an item from a list then you can do it by this remove function. So item dot remove and within this write a particular item name that you want to remove or the serial element name. So suppose I want to remove rights I don't want to buy this so I've removed rice. Now green item C, C rice is removed from this item. Now remember one thing that if rice is repeated twice in your list, suppose you have mentioned rice here also and again in somewhere else, after also Rice is twice in your list. So this remove function will remove only the first element only the first rice from your list not the one that is present after.

So the next method that we do is list dot O. So lists dot pop will first return an item at a given index position and then it will remove that particular item from the list So first I'll do print item dot pop and and give the index number here so I'll give supposed to then print it and see what it do. It would first return the element of index number two. So here index number two is better. And then it will remove that particular element from that list see the list but it is not present. So why This top function, you can remove a particular item by mentioning their index number, the second next thing that we'll do is list dot index.

This list dot index, it will return the index number of a particular item. So if you want to know that at which position AIDS is present, so just write item dot index and within this, right it's see to return to that is 012. So two is the index number of x. The next thing that I will do is list dot copy. It will copy your list To one new list. So if you want to copy that particular list to a new list, then you can use this function.

So first name, suppose item underscore two, equal to item dot, copy, and now print item to see. Now I think Lu is returning on the value of the list item. So the values of that is the elements on the elements of item is now copied to item two. And now it is returning all the elements of item to the next method that we'll do is reverse. So list dot reverse, so list dot reverse will reverse your list that is it will start typing from the last element to the first element. So here, item dot reverse.

And now think Titan. See, he just started printing from the last element and ended in the first one. So, shampoo was my last element and red was my first so, it started printing from shampoo shows spices called x cereals and right see this is the sequence. So, the next method is short how to short so please stop short. So, it is the listening so item dot shot and then print item C it is now sorted b c e s so, by default it was shot in ascending order so it is now sorted in ascending order on the elements have no changes in this number and changes position. So if you shot a particular list, all the elements of that particular list will change its position.

Now the last one that we do is, is clear how to clear the list. That is how to remove all the elements from your list. So let's talk clear is the last method that I will do today. So item, dot, clear. And now print item. See it returned a blacklist without any elements.

So all the lists on the elements that are present in your list, it's now cleared. So these are the few methods that we generally use in list the methods are append, insert, extent, remove, pop, index, copy, reverse shot, and clear. So in our next video, we'll be starting with tupple till now keep practicing. See you in the next video. Thanks You
