All right, now we're gonna get inside of the keyword planner that we just downloaded here, this Excel sheet. So you may have Excel, you may have numbers, depending on your operating system. It's all different. But what I'm going to be talking about is for Windows, a few of the key commands that I use, you can do this by switching out some of my keys with a Mac for Apple instead of control. It's all dependent on again, your operating system. So what I do is I select these columns, and I hold CTRL and just going to select all those things.

So I'm just going to leave keyword search volume, and the suggested Pay Per Click so that way we can see how much value these keywords ranking page one really offer us. You know, if we're able to get 100 clicks within a single month for tamped SEO that's as much value as having a $2,000 SEO campaign with Google for pay per click. So again, a lot of value to be had. Then I press Control Minus that deletes those columns. I then drag, double click inside those between those columns that makes everything larger. Then I'll highlight.

And just like that, we have our keywords really narrowed down just to three main columns. Inside of here, what I'll use is called the sort and filter tool. I'll click filter, and I'll be able to type in things that I want mainly I want to go for local SEO. So I'm gonna go for Tampa. I'm not trying to rank nationally for generic keywords, I have a local business so I want to rank for local keywords because I'm gonna get a lot higher conversion rates than just someone typing in SEO. Obviously if I came up for SEO, I'm gonna make millions a month, but that's gonna take also millions a month to upkeep in backlinks and building.

So I want to try for things where it's low hanging fruit easy, it's local to me, guess what not everyone in the world is trying to rank inside of Tampa, Florida. In fact, there's probably only About 100 or 1000 people, they're trying to rank for that keyword. So it makes it much more open than just trying to rank for the keyword SEO or SEO company for hire. That's even going to be hard harder even though there's more keywords, you know, longer phrases usually means lower competition. They call these longtail phrases. Something like search engine optimization company or Tampa search engine optimization company has five words all together, it's gonna have a lower keyword competition, because there's so many words people type in, it's not as often searched as you can see 10 to 100 probably going to be somewhere in about 15 to 20 searches a month range.

So all of this being said, Just keep in mind that you want to get like I said, local keywords, things that are very highly extremely relevant to you and your business. Don't go for something national. Unfortunately, if you are more of a national brand, you're selling something like just, you know, say you're an affiliate for some product, or it's just some digital product about weight loss. Then you're gonna have to do a little bit more research, it's not going to be local terms for you. It may be you know, you're gonna have to get a list of 800 keywords on weight loss in a specific type of weight loss you do. Do you do weight loss through workout plans through diet?

Do you do it through a specific you know, like a K berries or you know, the special fruit or coconut or kale or what is it? So do those, add those keywords in, you're gonna want to populate a huge list and then start filtering through those main keywords for me, like I said, it's Tampa. So I could click in Tampa, select all these how I did that real quick is Ctrl Shift, and I pressed right down, or I could just press you know, down and right either way. Then I press Control seats, same as right clicking and copying. open a new tab at the bottom, paste that in. I'll open those up.

There we go. And now that I have all these, I'm Going to select all those except for the top row Ctrl minus, and then that's going to delete those keywords. So now all I have left are non Tampa keywords. So say I want to go even a little bit further, you know, I don't want to expand, I would say Florida. There we go, Florida. So I have all this now.

Go over to the next sheet, add that in. There we go. delete that. Clear the filter. And now these are all the keywords that were left over inside of the original keyword research. So I kind of keep these and I say, hey, if you want to, you know, when I'm delivering my keyword research, here's all the other keywords we could search these up for you as well.

You know, here, here's the the unused keywords as I label them. Focus keywords, as I call them, because we're having a focus on this. And now we may go through here and we may end up deleting reading some things because we're not obviously offering jobs. You know, I even do filters, again here. And I say anything where it's like talking about a job, don't want that. Anything where it's talking about website, you know, I don't want that.

So now with that we're probably left with about, yeah, that seems reasonable about 60 keywords. So that's a lot of keywords. In actuality, what you really are probably going to end up using is somewhere between 10 and 20 keywords within a campaign and by a campaign, I mean, three months plus, so you're just trying to rank for those two main 20 keywords, then you'll switch up, you'll still continue this at a slower rate, but not as much and then you'll focus on 10 or 20 new ones, and that's kind of what SEO campaigns do they they always refresh with new keywords and new phrases. So that you're just trying to rank a lot of little terms at first, these longtail phrases, the lower Competition. And Google uses what's called Google aggregate ranking algorithms. Where if you rank for a lot of little terms, they'll just for free with no extra work give you these shorter, big terms that are hard to rank for almost impossible.

Just simply because you have, you know, a dozen or so other keywords that you rank for, that are relevant to that main keyword. And those might what I would call seed keywords. So the seed keyword inside of almost all of these things is Seo. Now, I'm not going to probably rank for SEO by ranking for all these Tampa keywords. But guess what, I'm probably going to rank in the first 10 pages for the keyword SEO by ranking for all of these SEO terms as well, without even trying. Now if I then set forward a campaign to actually try and rank for I'd be much more successful.

Would I still reach page one? Probably not. It's about 75 Casey Out of 100. So it's like very difficult. There's even there's rare I've ever seen keywords that are rankle at those types of levels even 50 and above I suggest staying away from. So when you get keyword competitiveness back here inside this, I did I did delete that.

You'll get a keyword competitiveness that's for pay per click that is not for organic ranking. So anything that you get from Keyword Planner regarding competitiveness is not relevant to you organically. See organic, you're going to be working building backlinks to naturally get traffic, pay per click, you're literally saying I'm going to pay you $21 and 13 cents anytime someone clicks on my ad when they search Tampa SEO. And that can get very expensive, very quick. So that's why people will pay us 500 $1,000 month for an entire year to rank them for five or 10 keywords because guess what, if you ranked page one for this, and you're getting 1000 keywords a month, that's a $2,000 a month SEO campaign. That's a lot of money.

And I actually I'm sorry, I did that wrong, the math is 21,000. So again, there's a lot that you can end up spending on these types of SEO campaigns, if you do pay per click. That's why organic, so much more powerful. And when you have keyword research, you know exactly what to go after. And that's what the key point of all of this is. So now we have all of our keywords that are relevant to us, I'm sure there's a few that are, you know, not so good.

So you want to go through one by one these last 60 and say, Hey, you know, actually all of these do fit very well. So, you know, sometimes they may not, you may want to delete one, two or three of those See, you know, little ones that aren't exactly what you're looking for. But it seems all these keywords are. So now I'm going to get into the next step, which is the free tool that I use. And the paid tool, obviously, the paid tool, I always suggest because it's way better. But I'm going to show you guys both, obviously, the free is limited doesn't show as much data, it's not as true to the point of rank ability difficulty compared to the paid one.

But you can also use the paid one with a $1 free trial. So you know, for a buck, why not. And let me tell you, you can pay for the paid one with the way I'm going to show you and how quickly it pulls this data. Like you can pay for it in a couple weeks usually, even though it's like $300 for a one time purchase. It's highly, highly suggested. I know that sounds like a lot but people pay hundreds of dollars to use this tool or know that you have this tool and be able to use you to do the research.

So like I said, it pays for itself.
