However, once we achieve a basic or intermediate level of English think that it's time to refine it and make it personalized.

So it's useful for you and your needs and your interests. Now, I have good news for you. If you want to increase your vocabulary, you don't need to learn all the English words in the world. Think about this. How many times in your life will you use that vocabulary? How much would those words and expressions help you Maybe not too much, right? So what's the solution? Let's work on building your own personal, refined and specific vocabulary. Now for this second pillar will work on your style of communication will polish your vocabulary. So it increases in impact and becomes more powerful, explicit and persuasive will also supercharge your ability to retain words and We will work with structuring your English thoughts so that they can increase in the influence that they have with the people that listen to you.

I remember, one friend told me when I was learning and trying to communicate in English, I was living in United States. And I was trying to express myself. And sometimes it was very difficult, because I had the idea of what I wanted to say here very clearly. However, at the moment of trying to put it into words, I got confused destructors Awards, they didn't come automatically, or I didn't know certain words or expressions that I needed to say, to transmit my idea clearly. So my friend told me, You know what, the problem is that you say what you know how to say. But you don't say what you want.

What you need to say, because you really don't have a specific vocabulary for it. So ever since he told me that I have thought and analyzed and work on this, and I think the solution is to start hunting for specialized words. I mean, the words that will be the most useful for you and your needs and your reality. Remember, you don't need to learn all the new words in English that you encounter in books and movies and conversations. But you need to pay attention to catch, memorize, implement and start using the words that you will definitely find a use for. Okay, this is something that I love.

I call them my power words. These are words that throughout the years have caught my attention. And I have written down and implemented into my regular English speech. These are the words that the scenes The first time I heard them cost that profound impact on me. I loved these words. So I said, You know what, I need to use these words in my regular English communication.

I would love to show you how to do that. First of all, let me give you some examples of my favorite power words. Are you ready? Now, before I reveal to you my secret power words, let me give you a little warning. We are about to learn some advanced words. Some words that people don't use commonly, and maybe some native English speakers.

Don't know some of these words. So don't use these words frequently. And don't use too many of these specific advanced words in every conversation you have. The goal here is to add a little touch these words in your conversations so that people can get the idea of, wow, this guy or this girl really knows deep English, not only the basic things that everybody knows how to speak, but he or she knows some vocabulary that I don't even use in my real life. So use it once or twice in your important conversations. But don't start using these words all the time.

Because people can find it a little weird or annoying. All right. Okay, so here are five of myself. Favorite power words. The first one I tried to pronounce it before I say it. Are you saying?

Preposterous? Let's say it again. preposterous. preposterous. First of all, I love how this word sounds, it has such an exciting sound. What it means is something absurd, completely ridiculous and absurd.

So maybe you're talking to your boss, and your boss has an idea of laying off or firing 30% of the employees in your company. Maybe you think that's not such a good idea. So how does this sound to my dear boss? I'm terribly sorry to disagree with you. But your idea is preposterous. All right.

Maybe you don't want to Tell your boss that he has preposterous ideas. But you get my point right? That's a preposterous idea. Or your outfit today looks preposterous command that looks absurd. Can you feel the power of these words? Let me show you another one.

Okay, second power word. riveting riveting. Awesome. Okay, so yesterday I was having dinner at a restaurant, and suddenly I saw a gorgeous woman with a red dress. She was riveting to look at. I just couldn't stop looking at her.

She looked riveting. Good. So Interesting, so exciting, so good that you cannot take your eyes off of that person or have that thing. That is something riveting. Good. So, feel the difference not only thing the difference, what if you say, Well, I saw a woman yesterday.

All right guy and she or he look, they look nice. You're transmitting your idea right but wow the power and feelings you're transmitting to your audience. This guide is guaranteed looked absolutely riveting easy way to increase the power of your communication using these power words. Okay, third word. This is one of my favorites, and it's also one of my latest additions to my vocabulary. I'm talking about the word progress.

That's right progress. Now, I can see that if you keep following these steps to transform your English, your English progress will be more than evident. What I mean is that you will have superior quality and superior ability and superior skill and your English you will have English prowess. Okay. Power word number four. uncanny.

Uncanny. Have you heard this word before? right maybe this word is uncanny for you. right this is something unusually strange unusually The friend are difficult to understand. Right? Sometimes we live through uncanny situations, or we might have an uncanny conversation.

That's very strange. And you don't really understand what's being said in that conversation. So you can say, Wow, that was an uncanny conversation. Or that's an uncanny guy. Right? Something unusually strange, weird, difficult to understand or different.

That something uncanny. Fantastic. All right. Now let's go to our fifth and final power word of the day. Before you read this word, however, remember your pronunciation tips. This word is easier to pronounce than you might think.

So do you remember what the letter should be silent in this course, you need to avoid pronouncing the beam. So you can simply say, Don founding. Dom founding. Good. So when something is done founding is something that makes you feel almost paralyzed with the surprise and the astonishment, maybe even the shock of a situation, or something that's happening. That's dumbfounding.

You feel, of course, don't found that, right. I'm dumbfounded with the news. The news was so shocking. So dumbfounding, that I became paralyzed with astonishment, I became dumbfounded, right? Awesome. Now, these are just five of my favorite power words.

But remember, if you don't like them, or if you don't see yourself using these words in a real situation in the future, completely forget about them. Don't pay any more attention to them. And you should be doing exactly the same with every new English word that you hear or that you read, that you don't find a real use or real benefit in your real life, in your job in your travels, or anytime you're using English. If you on the other hand, can think of some benefits and some possibilities or situations where you can use a specific word. Well, you should do whatever it takes to implement this word. start using it in your vocabulary.

Okay, now let's talk about how you can start creating and implementing your own secret. Our words. Step number one, become a word Hunter. Right? You need to have antennas in your real life. When ever you are watching a movie, watching TV, reading magazines, books, having meetings in English, talking to your boss from United States, whatever, you need to have your antennas to detect new words that you like.

Whenever you hear or read a word that you find interesting. Ask for the definition, or look it up in your dictionary. By the way, if you don't have a dictionary in your cell phone, you must have it by now. You can find many free options, and it's a great tool for this type of activities. So you hear any word, you can look it up, read the definition. And if you like it, go to step number two.

So, step number two. Alright, so once you found a new word that kind of sounds interesting for you to implement and start using. Focus on how this word makes you feel and what it makes you think. Don't worry, there's no correct or incorrect answers. But we're we're trying to do is connect a new sound and new meaning into your own personal identity into your psychology into your feelings. If you don't do that, the new word will be very impersonal and the chances that you will start using it We'll be lower.

So when you find a word that you would like to implement, and to memorize, think, how does this work? Make me feel how does this work make me think. Right? I'm thinking about the word progress. How does prowess, superior skill and ability make me feel? Well, I feel stronger.

I feel confident. I feel happy and satisfied with myself because of my progress. So do you see how we're connecting internal emotions and thoughts with an external sound and your words, these have perfect combination to help you deeply implement new words and expressions. Okay, so step number three. Now you understand the word and you also Feel the word Do you have a really good idea of what this word makes you feel makes you think and what it can help you express right? So instead number three, we will think of a past experience where you could have used that word to describe that experience.

And also, you must think of a future experience or situation where you could use these words to describe it. If I'm trying to learn the word proposers, instead number three, I should immediately think of a past experience that was preposterous for me. Right? Once a student asked me to give him a year free of English lessons, and I thought to myself, wow, that's preposterous that this guy wants to obtain all my value all my time, all my energy, and really, he doesn't want to contribute with anything. That was preposterous for me, right? Now, when Could I use this word in my future?

Maybe if a friend asks me to go to Alaska to swim with him, I will say, you know what, that's a preposterous idea. I will never go to Alaska to swim. That's just completely absurd and preposterous. So instead number three, we're connecting now, our past experiences with the word and the possibility of using this word in your future. You're making it real now, which is very important, if you want to really implement in words. All right, so now you know that you can take your vocabulary skills To a super high level, if you focus on implementing only the words that you love, and that you find a real use in your future when you're speaking and communicating in English.

We also talked about some very good examples, some of my favorite power words that I have implemented and I use sometimes to communicate. And now you also know how to go about this process of implementing new words into your English vocabulary. Right. Now, it is time to take this information into your real world. So for the next few days, every time you are around English, start paying attention to these new words. Start looking for the definitions and selecting a couple of the words that you absolutely love and the you absolutely know that you will use in your future.

Find them, write them down and go through this mental process. Right? Step number one, find the definition. Step number two, think about how these word makes you feel. And what does it make you think? A number three, think of past experiences and future experiences where you could use these words.

Finally, make sure you start using these words in your real conversations, not only in your practice time, because your practice time is awesome to improve your English, but it's an artificial setting. You're studying English, you're not leaving and using English. So make sure that apart from using these words in your practice time you start using it in your real life. Fantastic So this is all for today. I hope you enjoyed this lesson about vibrant vocabulary. And I hope that you immediately start building a magnificent, cool, amazing vocabulary.
