Hi, and welcome to step number one to transform your English. Today we will look at the fundamental basic English sounds that you need to learn to pronounce perfectly so that everybody that listens to you speak English can understand you clearly. Now, maybe you already speak English, probably you have been studying for many years of your life, and even probably you are using English in your job nowadays. However, perhaps you're also having some of the difficulties that I know I was having very often when I was practicing my English and that was That when I was speaking to people, sometimes they would look at me with a blank face. And they would say, What? Can you say that again, I didn't catch what you're saying.

And I know this was very embarrassing for me. Now later, I discovered that the problems I was having were very simple to correct. I was simply pronouncing some consonants, as I do in my main language, which, which is Spanish. The problem is that English speakers don't really understand these consonants as they know them in English, and that causes a lot of confusion. So today, I will show you how to perfectly pronounce every consonant that you need to pay attention to. All right, are you ready?

Let's start with the first Big difference. Take a look at this word. Can you please read it? Good. Now take a look at this word. How do you say it?

Great. So, as you can see that first word, you should be saying three. I'd say it again tree tree. And if we go to the second word, now we need to say Three. Three. So big difference number one, the letter T, and the letter pH are completely different in English.

The letter T is very simple to pronounce you can say tree and the letter th look at my mouth when I produce a th look at my tongue between my teeth. When I say three Three, good if you have problems with this, and if you speak Spanish, think of the word heart in Spanish, but with the pronunciation like they do in Madrid, or in Barcelona, they would say, God song. I tried to say go to fun. Even if you don't speak Spanish, you should try to say Cora THON. And now you can very easily say, Cora three and now simply say, three. You got it.

It's very easy to make the sound right. Excellent. Now tried to say I see three trees. I see three trees. Perfect. So now let's go to difference number two.

Please try to read this word. Course basic color, a very bright color. And now let's take a look at this word, which is my favorite, the cert. Good. So the color the song is yellow. Is that what you're saying?

Try to say it again. Yellow. On my favorite dessert is jello, jello. Can you hear the difference? specially if you speak Spanish, this can be a little confusing for you. Because the Y in Spanish has a vibrating sound, we say Jo or jolanda.

In English, this is completely different. You always have to say it very softly. Yellow. Good. Imagine it simply as letter I can you say, yellow? On the other hand, the letter J has a vibrating sound.

That's what we have to say. jello. Good. So I don't like green jello. I like yellow yellow. Got it.

So try to repeat with me. I like yellow jello. I like jello yellow. Fantastic. Thank you. So now we're ready to difference number three.

I have a friend and her name is how do you say this? And she loves to go to that. Good. So what is the difference in the pronunciation of these two words. Again, if your first language is Spanish This can be difficult for you because the s and z sound exactly the same in Spanish, but in English, they're completely different letters. So what my friend's name again?

Exactly. Her name is Sue. And she likes to go to their That's right. zoo. Do you hear the vibration I'm making with my mouth when I pronounce a letter Z. Imagine you have a mosquito in your mouth when you're saying Zoo and feel the vibration in your mouth.

So now I tried to say so loves to go to the zoo. Great again. So loves to go to the zoo. Fantastic. Okay, now, are you ready for the most important consonant difference that you definitely must learn and start applying immediately? Let's take a look at it.

Have you read this word? Good. How do you read this one? What's the difference in the pronunciation? By the way, one R or two R's are pronounced exactly the same. So the difference is not there.

Take a look at the first word again and say very, one more time. Very. And I listen to the second one. Very, very. Can you clearly hear the difference? In Spanish, the B and the V usually sound the same.

But remember, in English these are again completely different letters. So if you are pronouncing your V as a B, you will be confusing people. I confused people for many years of my life when I tried to say very and I was saying very, or I want to take Virginia and they said beer Virginia. So to pronounce it v correctly, you just look at my mouth. I hear the vibration when I pronounce it. To say, V. You see my teeth, my lips, V. Berry.

And I'll say berry berry. I'm gonna say I like berries very much. Good time. I have various variables. Much Could you do it? Excellent.

Okay, let's take a look at another one. That's not such a common problem or mistake, but we need to check that you are pronouncing this letter perfectly fine. Because if not, it can be terribly confusing for the people that hear you. So take a look at this word. how you say it. Good, and I'm proud to say this one.

Very good. Exactly. How do you say the first word again? That's right. I hope your say wound would say it again with me would. Of course the second one is good.

Good. Do you see the difference between the W and the G? Make sure that when you pronounce a W, or making a soft mood, don't say good, because that's the G. We use a W is to be very soft and smooth. If you have problems pronouncing this letter, imagine a ghost. A ghost Dawson say Goo Goo Goo Goo Goo Goo Goo Goo Goo goo. She always says right.

Where, fantastic. So now let's say I like good would say it again. I like Good. Good.
