Imagine this for a second. You're a drop off is getting ready to go home after a long day of work. And just as you're about to leave the office, your boss tells you Hey, my dear, dear, dear friend, and a big favor from you, can you please prepare a presentation for tomorrow? Talking about the merge that will happen next month. Please, everybody in the company around the world should know all the details about the merge. So please, you prefer this presentation for tomorrow morning.

Oh, and by the way it has to be in English. Well, at this point, maybe you might start getting shocked. You might be suffering from what I like to call English block. So, let's learn how to deal with this terrible English block. Now, many of us English learners, even though we use and we speak and we think in English, why do we have the pressure to make a presentation to make a speech to run a meeting to share our ideas in important occasions? Sometimes we get locked.

We kind of know what we want to say. But we can't find how and every time we start trying, we immediately run into blocks. It used to happen to me so often, that I used to get so frustrated that I would just leave it for the next day, and the next day and the next day, so that they have the truth came I was kind of very anxious and completely unprepared. I just had to improvise and see what ever happened. Most of us non native English speakers run into these complications every so often. Right?

We know to think we know how to speak we know how to structure in English. But when an important moment when a challenge comes our way, when we need to prepare a presentation, structure a meeting, plan a speech or share important ideas with other people. We might get stuck, blocked and anxious. Right. I hate this feeling of, I know what I want to say. But I really don't know how.

And every time I start trying, I run into a big block. Now on our last session, you learn Very effective structure that you can always use, when you have to structure these sort of information. And these will guarantee that whatever comes out the final result will be effective, persuasive and understandable to anybody else. It will also help you eliminate a little bit this English block because when you have the information here, and you have this structure, why, what, how, when and where you need to feel in with your information, these structures and the final result will usually be impressive. Now, for this session, I will show you another technique that you can use to completely break the English block and allow you to flow smoothly, naturally and very easily whenever you need to transmit any IDs All right. So when you run into any of these English blocks, this is what you have to do.

First, simply sit down in a quiet place where you can concentrate for only five minutes. The key and the power of this technique is to do it quickly in just a couple of minutes. You can spend long amounts of time thinking about what to say and structuring and analyzing. Again, this is a matter of feeling and writing down whatever comes to your mind first. Okay, so now you're sitting down, relaxed in a quiet place in front of you a piece of paper, and you will count exactly three minutes. Now, if what you need to plan is a short email or a short talk, you can just reduce it time for one or two minutes.

But try to never go more than three minutes in this part. Why don't you start counting? Start writing key words of important information you need to translate. Good. The key words, what's the key word? It's only a one or two or three, maximum four word concept that encapsulates or tells you the big important message in just a few words.

Right? So instead of writing, I need to plan a presentation about the merger, just right merger on increasing taxes, that's what you're right, increase taxes, make it as short as possible. We're focusing on key words and knowing whole sentences. Now, don't think too much about it when you're writing. Just write whatever comes to mind. And these will not be the final resort resort.

There will be many moments where you can correct and refine what you're saying. But at this moment, they only goal is to get a list of a few key words that encapsulate your whole life. Once you have your keyword list ready, it's time for the fun part with your keyword list in front of you take a look at it again. And now, you will imagine that you have already finished the presentation or the email or the speech or whatever you already finished organizing it. So the only thing you will be doing is reading the final result. You will imagine that the final result is in front of you.

They complete an organized presentation, email, whatever, and you start giving it from start to finish really quickly. One rule you cannot stop, you cannot go back to correct anything. The objective here is to start and finish no matter how it comes out. Don't worry about your mistakes. Don't worry about imperfection. Don't worry, if you get confused and you're not transmitting the message Clearly, the goal is to start and finish as quickly as possible.

There will come time, a time later, where you will correct refine and perfect. But for now, just focus on getting it done and finishing it. If you start thinking, oh my god, what should go next? I'm getting confused or I made a mistake. Try to silence your mind. Focus on what's next and not what came before and finish it.

When you're done with this, you'll notice something amazing happening. You'll start feeling more confident about your information. You'll get a sense of organization, an author, in whatever you're saying. And you will feel much more comfortable now to give the presentation or to write the email because you already accomplished the mission. You're Already deducted. What are the key words and important concepts that you need to include in your text in your presentation in your email or speech.

And you also, were able to start and finish it. Good, but it doesn't matter but you finished. So this is what should come next. They go to recorder from your cell phone, in your computer, whatever you can, and do it again. Again, don't worry about polishing correcting or anything. Now you'll find that the second time, it usually becomes better, easier, and you can speak more smoothly, right?

You might also find the opposite, that you're getting more confused. You're getting slower. Maybe that's because you're thinking about your other time. You're trying to remember what you said last time you practice it. If you find yourself thinking this and feeling this stop again. Remember, this is a new try.

Don't try to repeat what you said before. Even if it comes out completely different. Keep going, keep recording. And don't stop until you're finished. Perfect. So now you have your key words, you have your improvisation.

And you have a second improvisation that should be a little bit more concise. If this is an email you're writing, or if this information needs to be written. Now it's time for you to write it down. You can listen to your recording one more time, and try to now put it back into paper. Now is a time to add corrections or refinements and to perfect it a little bit if you want. Don't take too long.

But yeah, you can take a little bit more time. And what you will usually find is that by this stage, now that the concept is clear, now that you can be relaxed because you actually finished the project Now your mind can really focus on curriculum, you will get a lot of ideas on how to make it better now, because you're feeling relaxed, and the tension is completely gone away. Now, a concept that can help you make this process a lot easier, is a concept that I like to call tight, but loose. Your presentation should be tight, should have a great structure, clear organization, and needs to be able to connect an impact whoever listens to you, but at the same time, it also needs to be loose. You don't need to memorize word by word sentence by sentence or paragraph by paragraph. If you have gotten so far into this course, maybe you're starting to realize that memorization is not about repeating stuff.

Focusing sitting down with a notebook in front of you to try to remember the things you need to remember. memorization comes automatically when you connect your information. When you have a clear structure and a great organization in your mind about the information you want to transmit. At this point, you should already start to feel excited. Because guess what? This is giving you the power to be prepared all the time without being prepared.

Right, forget about sitting down and getting pants for weeks or months to prepare important presentations you need to make or important speeches and meetings you need to run your company. These gives you the capability to be prepared anywhere anytime, as long as you work with your keywords and you use your structures. So remember, keep your personal Patience tight with an amazing structure, but loose. When you understand your concepts and your information. The information will flow automatically from your mouth or from your fingers if you're writing an email. Alright, let's go back to the example we mentioned in the beginning of the session, your boss asked you to prepare a presentation overnight to inform the employees from your company around the world about the merger that will take place between your company and another company.

So remember what your first step sit down and you will write at least have keywords without stopping for no more than three minutes. So maybe you would say words like of course, merger company at risk, low income Need to grow? improvement in services, new products, great opportunity, leading company general meeting and contact me. Right or whatever you feel is necessary. But do you feel how just by naming these words, you already start getting a sense of structure and a sense of what you need to do? Awesome.

So now you have a list of keywords. Now you have a general idea of what you need to say. And I'm sure you would already be feeling a little bit more confident and relaxed, because now you know it will be possible. Now you have the information in front of you. The only thing you need to do is put some words into it, to transmitted clearly, to remember step number two would be to Take a few minutes to start and stop the presentation without making any pauses without correcting anything. Even if you make mistakes, you will have this temptation to go back, resist this temptation and keep going.

Remember the correction time comes later? So let's try it, shall we? Pause the video and really try it. Don't take more than one or two minutes, just pause and start speaking. Whatever comes to your mind, say it. And when you finish, come back so that we can do this example together.

Okay, welcome back. How did you feel? And you see how once you have these key words, and once you have this objective of not stopping, it is not so difficult to actually finish your presentation. So let's do it. together. All right, I have less than one minute to finish my presentation.

It would go something like this. Hello, everybody, we're here to inform you that there needs to be a merge the company's at risk right now. We have low income, and we need to innovate, create new products and get updated because the market is slowing us. The company that we will be merging with will be keep going, will be it's a leading company in the market and community, push yourself to keep going even if you're getting stuck, right. So it's a great opportunity for all of us. There will be no layoffs, everybody will keep their job, and these will bring us great opportunities that we didn't have before.

We will have a general meeting next week to talk about this merger. More details. And please feel free to contact me and send me an email with any questions or doubts you might have. Thank you. Amazing, isn't it? Now you got it, you can see the real results in front of you, you have a prepared presentation.

Now, try to do it again, while you're recording yourself when you're finished using to herself, and you'll find that many ideas on how to make it better will come to your mind. You'll find many little things to correct to refine to perfect. And this is a time to do it. If you want to write down and outline of your presentation, that's fine. But I hope that you will realize that you could even make this presentation without an outline. Now you have your keywords, you have your structure, and you understand and feel your communication.

So you'll have no problem. problem, letting people know all the information that you need to congratulations. Fantastic. Now it's time for you to start applying this technique into your own reality. Use it for your own necessities and situations. So, I would like you to start thinking about an email that you should be writing soon, a presentation that you should prepare a meeting that you will be running soon.

Speech that you need to have with your boss, your partners, your children, your whatever. It can be professional if you need your English professionally. Or it can be personal, if you are just learning and improving your English for traveling and for social issues, right. So choose your topic. Select an objective. In other words, what do you want to accomplish with this presentation or with this speech or with this email and sit down and start doing your keywords.

Then you know what's next right? Give your presentation as quickly as possible from start to finish without stopping. And third, record yourself and check the results. Good. Remember to download the PDF file where you will find more help and Extra examples and information about this technique. These will help you understand and apply these keywords formula a lot there.

Okay, so this is it for now. And I'll see you for the final part of this step number six. I'll see you soon. My name is G and I hope you stay well.
