I'm really big on efficiency when I make my videos it's you know, time is money. If you're trying to get to from Florida to California, you know, you could go north east and you'll get there if you know you do one of these eventually, or you could get there in a straight line. So I try to think of that with everything I do. In the process of making a YouTube video. I'm always saying to myself, how could I do this faster? What What could I do that would speed up this process and make it better?
And I go through each aspect from beginning to end of how I make a video, and I'm constantly fine tuning it and trying to think how can I make this faster and one of the ways for example is I noticed when I do my fuzzy puppet channel that me and the other puppeteers, our knees would get really sore from you know, we'd be sitting on the ground, you know, you're doing this with the puppets. I noticed that after a few hours of doing that we had to rest so I was like, I need to go online right now and find the most comfortable knee pads for me and every person helped me with that that would make even if it makes it 5% more comfortable. Hey, that's 5% more efficient. I just became with my videos. Also in the beginning days of my videos, I noticed I spent a lot At a time going through hard drives, and like deleting stuff and shuffling things around trying to make space and I noticed how much time I collectively spent on that it was a lot of time that I would spend just moving things around deleting render files and finding files that got misplaced.
And I realized the amount of time that I spend doing that is the amount of money that I could have made, I could have just bought a 10 terabyte hard drive in a fraction of the amount of time and not even wasted the time deleting and shuffling files around. I was like there's another part of the process. So you should be constantly looking through your process and picking out any area that you can speed up or make faster or things you're doing that are wasting time. For instance, I have all the state of the art computing hardware and software I make sure all my software is up to date with the latest version because I don't want to waste time on an error trying to diagnose it don't have time for that time is money. I make sure that my processors the best that money combined because then I can render videos faster.
Like I said, I have 234 computers rendering at once. So it's just another way to speed things up. So go through your process right now. I have this remote Okay, why do I have this remote remote start and stop from my camera I noticed with the fuzzy puppet videos and when when I'm underneath the table and I got a whole guide set we're doing the puppets to get up and walk around and put all that down to start and stop the camera takes a long time This makes it much easier and also it saves a lot of hard drive space when you're shooting 4k 60 frames a second you know, there's there's a lot of time between before when I have to start the care walk around, put the puppet suit on get everything you know, you're talking about minutes that could be you know, gigabytes every time just being wasted.
So I was like, let me buy how much of the thing costs less than $20 and I'm gonna save myself a ton of hard drive space and editing time so constantly go through your your process and see like where can you speed things up? Where can you refine things where can you cut stuff out, and you there's always something as you're going as you continue your YouTube channel, there's always something you can do to make it faster.
