The tools that are used by many individuals are on a trial-and-error basis. This means that not all tools are meant for everyone; some individuals find some tools more helpful than others. These tools can be used for specific activities and not others; it also depends on the client's symptoms at that time and to what degree the client is willing to make lifestyle changes. (Kade, 2023)
A good disease self-manager will try many different tools and decide what they prefer to use depending on their needs for a specific day. We suggest trying each of these tools for at least two weeks.
