DESCRIPTION: How does the Ladakhi method handle large-volume production?

Here, a few examples of after season Ladakhi grainfields, shown empty in order to see the complete field layout.

Shown here, prime canals (main supply), the feeder canals which channel water through large sections of the field, and the artery canals and berms that supply each of the long cells which contain the grain plants or produce.

In LM, when canals are used, each cell entrance is gated with a rock, and usually, a bit of old cloth- or even rubber- underneath, to prevent water from seeping into cells whilst the gates are closed.
