You already received several physical relaxation techniques such as breathing exercises and Jacobson. You can use these during your evening ritual or when you wake up at night (also during your stimulus control). This week I want ot introduce some mental relaxation exercises. Thoughts stop, visualization, and 6 other mental exercises.
Many benefit from the latter especially at the onset of sleep or when they wake up during the night. Some swear by physical relaxation others by these mental exercises. Be sure to experiment with them. It is important to find exercises that work for you.
