Hey guys, and welcome back to the low poly wolf class. In this lesson, I'll take you through how to use your reference image and start modeling your wolf. So the first thing that we're going to do here is I'm just going to hop into perspective view to show you the technique that we'll be using. We're going to click on this green cube here and click loft. Then we're going to click on the font tag and delete it. And now I'm going to go here and click on inside.

So this will show you the sort of hexagon shape that we're going to be using, click on the inside and then drag it into loft. It's now the hexagon is sort of filled in here. We can hop on to the Move Tool and shift or control click, control click hold and drag and You can sort of drag the hexagon at make a 3d shape. You can also use the Scale tool here, clicking on each of these different colored axes to to change them and then move back on to the move tool, click and drag again. So now we'll hop back into our right view. And then we're going to go into mode View Settings.

Now you can't quite see view settings there. But once you go to View Settings, make sure you're in back and you can change the transparency here, like so, to about 70% and we'll select our loft and escape scale it down here there'll be probably can't see the shape It's just a blank line at the moment, but we're going to start at the end of the wolf. And I'm going to hold down Control, click and drag the the inside. So duplicated the, the x, I don't know what happened there. So let's select the inside actually select the inside and then you can click a control click and drag the shape. So let's try that again hopping back into our right view, hold Ctrl select the inside first hold control, click and drag and there you go.

You can now use the Scale tool, scale it down a little bit, use the Move Tool and just try and align the shape as much as possible to our reference image. And you can do the same with the other ends. Slides the one at the beginning and just trying to find a way to to fit that silhouettes. Selecting the latest end slide, you can even use the rotation tool rotates the inside and then back on the Scale tool again. So just using a mixture of those three tools is how we're going to model. So Ctrl clicking Ctrl clicking and dragging.

Then moving it with a move tool and scaling it with the Scale tool. So I'm just trying to create that curve and the back in the belly. Using the rotation tool, the Rotate tool to rotate the backup. Just looking at the belly there seeing if it It fits the shape. And then just ending it just wear the leg and the shoulder is suggesting it with a Scale tool. Click and drag will let go of control.

Make sure that you hold the control down. Move so we can create the parts of the neck ear tight as we're moving up the neck up has quite a large neck Now we're going to whoops, we're going to make the space here, ready for modeling the head, rotate it. And then just using the Move Tool and the Scale tool. So once you get the hang of using those three tools, getting your head around modeling becomes a lot easier. The three main tools are the ones that you see at the top of the screen there, which is the move tool, the Scale tool and the Rotate tool. And you just want to use those three, those three tools to, to kind of shape your wolf as closely as possible.

Now remember, this is still a low poly both. So it doesn't have to be 100% accurate, just the general shape of the silhouette, which is what I'm trying to follow here will do. So now that you can see we're just hopping back into perspective mode. And you can kind of see how the body is now taking shapes have got the neck, sort of the curve the back and the curve of the of the stomach, and then sort of where the hips are and the shoulders are going to be and where the tail end is, is going to be as well. You can see that the model is still kind of curvy. So I'm just going to hit mode here.

And we're going to go into objects and then go to basic Not quite the, the option I'm looking for go back into object. Let's see. This is not what I'm looking for. So we want to select loft. And so make sure you've got lots selected and then we're going to go so you can see here that it's curved. So if we click linear interpolation, and you can see it sort of makes the the silhouette jagged again, so we're going to make the mesh subdivision 15 mesh mesh subdivision v into five and this isoh palm subdivision into 10.

Facts. Yeah 15 510 and then it will have that sort of low poly jaggedy abstract look at where we're looking for. So that's it for this lesson. In the next lesson we'll go through using the same techniques that we've just learnt and applying that into creating the tail for the wolf. see you guys then
