Strategies
Keep your strategies simple. Give instructions verbally and then demonstrate what the outcome should look like. Write homework on a board and ensure players write it down. The repetition is good. Please don't assume because you have explained something once, the players know what to do. Make it easy for all the players to succeed. Some players need to review the vocabulary before playing; that's ok. That's another point of contact with the curriculum. Ask them to team up with another player and practice reading the vocabulary together. The pronunciation will come in time. Always encourage the players to bring the written assignment to your class. Writing and drawing pictures are key to their development. Creativity helps create connections that help players retain the curriculum long-term.
