Now we're ready to start constructing our website and inserting these items here, you only see a certain amount of space. But don't worry about that. Because as you keep adding, it will keep expanding as far as you need to. So you don't have to worry about the space that you see. You also see that when I hover into this area, this add footer option comes up a footer, it puts something on the bottom of every page. So maybe you want your school name or your company name at the bottom of each page, you can add a footer.

The reason I mentioned it is because you need to be careful because when you're adding some of these elements, if you add them into the footer, they'll show up on every page and you may not want that. So you have to realize that they're in the footer, so that you can take them out and put them where you want. So I'm going to add a footer for now and I'll just put the word dogs. I'm going to make it a little larger so you can see it and you can center it. So here's some text options. Okay, now this is in the footer, so it should show up on every page.

Want to scroll to the top and if I click on my other page, Golden Retrievers page, it's there. If I click on the Labrador page, it's there. Okay, so only something that you do want on every page, you would put in the footer. I don't want this on every page. So what I'm going to do is click on it again to edit it. And as you see to the left here, every time you click on an element, and everything that we're going to add from this point on, you have these options here.

So you can change colors, the background, so if you wanted something to stand out and put color on it, you can actually make an image as the background. I'm going to click regular so it goes back. Okay, you can duplicate it. So if you want something that you wouldn't duplicate a footer, but you would duplicate the things that we're going to add here, which I'll show you in a moment. Or you can get rid of it. So I want to get it out of my footer.

So if by accident, you put something in your footer and it's showing up on every page and you don't want it to just go over here and delete it. Now I don't have a footer anymore. Okay, and if you do something that sort of Gray's out, just click on it again, it comes back. Okay, so let's look at the first thing that we can add, we can add a text box. Okay, so any text that you want on your page, you can click text box. And that page will come up.

So I'm going to type site all about. Okay, so this is where you would have some introduction, text or something about what your site's about. But for this purpose, I'm just going to type this now. So you'll see when you have the text, you have this dialog box come up, you have a couple of options, okay. Again, this is where I was talking about, you can't change the font, but you can change the style. So if you want it to be larger, you can make it a title or subheading heading, I'm going to leave that for now.

When I click back, I'll get the options if I want to make it bold, I can do that here, I just have to have it highlighted first. You can make it italics. This is where you can align it. So if you click on that, you'll get your options. So I'm going to make it center aligned. This option is if you want it to fill in the box, so it doesn't have space on the end.

So you can have it sort of filling you need a lot of text for this though, you need a paragraph and then it'll kind of stretch out the words in the spacing so that it'll fit into a square. And the other options you have here for text boxes, you can make numbered lists. And you can make bulleted lists. So if you have purpose for that, you can do that. And then you have a link, so you can make any text a link. So let's say you have another site that's talking about dogs and you want to add a link to it.

If you click on the link. All you need to do is paste in that link. Okay, so this is if you want it to go to an external link, but if you want it to go to an internal link Meaning one of the other pages in your website, then you can just click here and it'll bring every time you click on that word, it will go to this page. So let's say when you click on this, you want it to go to your golden retriever page and not an external page, then you would just click a golden retriever here. And every time you click on this text, it will go to that page. And then you saw Your other option there, which is to delete it all together.

And then under these three dots, which means more, you can clear the formatting. So if you copied this from another site, and you don't want to use that formatting and you just pasting it, you can clear it. You can have a strike through if you want, okay, and this is for coding, which is something we're not going to get into right now. So I'll click out to get rid of that. And now you see if I'm hovering down here, I'm in the footer. If I hover up here I have my options for changing colors and, and text and duplicating.

So let's say I want to make this emphasize it. And I can always go back Maybe make this a heading. So it's a little better here. So you can always go back and edit your text, however you want that. Okay, the next thing you can add our images. So there are two ways of adding images in Google Sites, if you click on images here, this will bring you to the search on your Google Drive.

So I'm going to do a search for dogs. And let's say I want this one. I click on and I put it in there. Now when you put elements, any of these elements into the video, they're always going to be left justified, but they don't have to be if you don't want them to you can move them. So when you're highlighted on an image, you get a different toolbox. You can crop.

You can crop it. You can make images links as well. So maybe you have a page, let's say about poodles that you want this to go to, you can click on the link. And you can do the same thing you can do within the program within your website or an external link to another page. And then you can delete the picture here if you don't like it. Now, you'll notice you don't have alignment options here.

So when you're editing videos and images, the way that you align it, if you wanted to center it, you just click on it, drag it over, and you'll see these gridlines pop up and the shaded area. That's to help you arrange where you want it. So if you want it exactly centered, looks about here and I drop it and that would centers it. Okay, so you don't have to keep everything to the left here. If you wanted to, maybe you want to move it back over here, and you can put a text box here. So now, when you click text box, it's going to put it underneath.

But if you want whatever you're going to type in here to be Hear, if you click on it, drag it up there. Try that again. There we go. crosshairs change, click on it, drag and drop it. Now you can have text here. So you do have arrangement options, even though they don't show and they're not actually a tool.
