Hi everyone, Alexis parents here. Welcome back to the class. This is the third video. And in this one, I'm going to teach you how to add transitions into your videos because transitions really smooth out your video, it's great to have a transition beginning and at the end, so it's not abrupt, and there's a nice finish. And then there's also it's also a great to add effects as well to make it more eye catching more fun, and more creative. So I'm going to teach you how to do both of those things in this video starting with transitions.

So as a rule of thumb, I always put a transition in the beginning and at the end of every video that I do, because you don't want it to abruptly start or abruptly end you want it to be smooth and nice. So to add a transition to the beginning of the end, you go over here, just head to the right and click on the transition icon which is this square. Now transitions are pop up, and so you can just scroll through here and choose which ones You want to add to your video, and it's nice because all you have to do is hover. And you see the preview of the transition in this video space. So you could hover to see this one, or this one or this one, but I want to keep it simple in just use the fade in fade out, cross dissolve, and I wanted at the beginning of my video, so all you have to do is click the transition that you would like and hover it just drag it to the place that you would want it to be so in the beginning, so I'm going to place it there.

And the cool thing is, is that if the transition is going too slowly or it's too quick, you can adjust the speed of the transition. All you have to do is go down here, kind of expand your clip so you can see the speed of the transition. So I'm going to make it quicker. So just Hover kinda like we kind of like what we did in our previous video of covering with our titles. Hover with your transition, wait for it to pop up and simply click and drag to decrease or extend the link up the length of your clip, I want to make it shorter. So I'm going to drag, bring it closer.

Hi, everyone, I like that. I like it. So now I'm going to get the same transition. I usually put the same one in the beginning and at the end in the middle, you can get creative and change it up, but I like to create and stick with uniformity. So I'm going to grab the same transition and put it at the end here. Let's see that why that's nice and like yet.

And also, I'm gonna make sure that my tidings fade out performance right before. So right now there's been a difference needs You can see. So I'm just going to expand my clip and adjust accordingly by so I think my title, waiting for the hover, dragging you that day. Bye. Good, nice. And now Oh, you also can put transitions within your videos.

Say for instance, you are combining different types of clips with different backgrounds and things I have to do is select within the clip where you want the transition by cutting it by slicing it. So I will do command B, say I want to transition right here in the middle. And you would go pick your transition, say we take the 3d triangle, select it, pick it up, and drag it right up the intersection. Now watch me get a different one so you can clearly see the difference. We're gonna get color opinions. And so if you change your mind like I just did, you can just simply pick up up a different one in, hover it on top of the current transition and replace it.

So now I have a chance to have a transition between these two clips. How can you reignite someone. So you could do that as well. If you want to add multiple transitions within your video, I'm going to take this out, we're going to undo the slice by doing command Z and doing all these actions. Now back to this. Secondly, I'm going to teach you now how to add how to change your backgrounds.

And that really just means adding cool effects. So to get the cool effects, you just go to these two squares on the side, click that icon and you pick the effect that you want. So you can always again just scroll and see what kind of feel your video needs and pick the best one. So say for instance, I want to make half of this clip black and white. So all I have to do is click the clip, come in beam, and then select the effect. Pick it up and place it on top of the second half of my clip where I want the effect to be seen.

So now it's back in white. And so I want the first part of my clip to be something else. So just scroll. Let's take cast. Now we place it on top of the first part of my clips and now my video is completely transformed into something. Hi everyone today, how can you reignite changes and also if you want to remove the effect just do command Z and undo it.

And also if you want to change the effect, simply choose it from the side click on it I get and put it on top, you know change. Okay, so I'm going to undo them sit on effects of this one. We always have the option to do that, but then your video especially if it's a long one, to keep the attention of your audience, you can add effects change backgrounds and make it more fun and exciting.
