I want to do now is kind of show you a few little tricks to making different social media thumbnails. Especially if you're going to be doing this for maybe even someone's entire channel, you can do a bulk deal. It's very quick, simple and easy to do that because you just want to make sure that Hey, what are you talking about? You know, do they have weekly or certain types of uploads where they have a QA or maybe today's you know, opening, you know, whatever came in the mail or whatever it is, they just kind of have a sequence. And when you have that, all you got to do and I especially love it for podcasts, or people who do that upload their videos, where they podcast is you just open up the YouTube thumbnail, come over here, and you're just going to design your own background.

The best thing I like to do usually is to go to YouTube calm and just kind of figure out what some of their competitors within the same market industry are. niche are doing for themselves. So that way you can kind of figure out what's going on. get an idea of what other people, you know how their designs look. And once you see that, you can kind of go from there. So again, if people are doing a lot of animations or things like this, where they go in and they kind of make a little cartoons, obviously, they're probably going to have these types of things covered.

But when you have something like, Hey, you know, here we're doing a DIY, sort of makeup tutorial, or these are obviously crafts, different things like that. Then the first thing that you're going to usually create is something again, that's eye catching. Something like this, again, you're just taking a clip from the game inside of here. This is really just an interview. And again, what are they doing, they're just big, bright yellow text with a black kind of shadow off to the bottom, left or bottom right. And with that, it stands out.

But again, it's nothing much more Most of them are just interviews, but it catches the person's eye. And this is really what you're trying to do inside of YouTube. Certain people, as you can see here, they kind of have all of their video game backgrounds. That's what some people use. Others will use pictures of themselves, as you can see here. And it just kind of has a background like that.

So you can add these things, you can do this as well, when you make these types of backgrounds. You may end up having to maybe use a different photo editor to get that white glare on the background of these images. But at the end of the day, Canva is going to do 90% of your graphic design. Little things like this, you can get what's known as GIMP. It's basically the free version of Photoshop, and honestly just doing this, you could put in a tutorial and learn how to do these little white, kind of, I would call them opacities or miss that go out to the side. And that's pretty easy to do.

Other things, again, is just a little picture kind of like this. And then kind of stating what's inside of the video, hey, what is Reddit. Others are just pictures of nature, things like that. So you want to make sure again, you're getting something that is close, someone's in Twitter, someone's in Facebook, kind of ask who some of their competition is, especially when you have jobs that are paying you more amounts of money. If someone's just paying you, you know, 510 bucks to do a quick photo and they're only doing it one time, then you're probably not going to ask for these things right away. Because this takes about, you know, maybe about five to 10 minutes to do a really good job and make sure you're getting just the style that they're looking for.

But once you have it, you can go through and again, download all these types of backgrounds. You know, you could do if they play video games, a lot video game, say, typed in video games, but video game background so you can have things like this. You know backgrounds, there's Halo believe that's Pokemon and a mix of different universes, there's Zelda. So all these different things can be used. And then you can upload them right inside of here by just clicking upload, or believe drag and drop also works but we're going to do is upload a Magnolia because that's what I last looked up. So we're going to quickly load that up real quick and this is going to be our YouTube background.

And once we added in there, there we go. We can of course resize it. There we go. And as you can see, all of these basically snap in place to where they need to be. So there's our background, we're going to add in some text Do something kind of like this. Again, they even have templates for the different types of texts that you want to add in.

So there's just so much selection, when it comes to what you're able to actually do inside of Canva. If you're going to be making certain changes, oops, making certain changes, kind of like I talked about before, where you may add that white kind of misty background to people, then that's going to be something that you may do inside of gimp or a different photo editor, but that is much more advanced. And when people pay you to do that, they're usually going to get charged about $40 for graphics, sometimes 50. So it's just worth it at that point. So here we are. We're just going to type in enjoy life.

Dot and then it's going to be something you know, we could be talking about. We'll click out, click back in once we click in it decided that down below and we'll say, uh, you know, enjoy life, get a free Java juice, job a Java juice on us, just visit our website. Once we do that, you know it's brunch calm, so we can post that up. And then boom, if we want. Again, we can increase the size of this, if you don't want to do it kind of the normal way, which is increasing the font manually by clicking on each one, you can just do this. And when you click on the size and drag from the sides, or I'm sorry, the corner the corners, pardon me, then you can actually increase the entire size of the image or text, whatever it may be.

And we're going to go ahead and try and find the center there that is see how it snaps with the little line in the middle. We're going to drag down a little bit, it's going to snap again boom. So there's the dead center of everything. Of course, it may not look good, so you just kind of go from there, we're going to say, that's good. And if we want to increase the length of anything, again, we can do that as well. But I'm just going to decrease the size of this text down to a 14.

And there we are. So get a free Java juice on us visit our website branch. And we can make it more bold, whatever you need to make it stand out. There I made it bold. We can put all uppercase if we want by clicking on that, you can add bullets, you can make larger spacing so that way if you want spacing to be wide like that, some people enjoy that some don't. You can increase the line height kind of like this.

So there's a lot you can do inside by editing the fonts really quick and easy like this. Now Like I said, I was going to give you a few tips. One of my main tips is when you create your text, you're going to be mainly using a few different kinds. Most of them are going to be things like Roboto, Railway, Leto, and our Mino. Now these are the types that really stand out railway is kind of a off brand, I would say, impact bond. And you probably see this a lot inside of marketing materials.

This impact font is usually what headlines are made of. And from there, you usually drop down to what's known as a Roboto, or a railway, but it's not a railway heavy for your sub text. So again, you want something that is very big, bold, you don't want something that's hard to see maybe it's cursive or something like that. Stay away from that, unless of course, your employer has told you that that's what they want. Then you can come over here and choose whatever it is that looks Similar to what they're going after, or if they already have a specific font in mind, then you can go through and find that in this very large list of selections, I mean, they even have other languages. So if that kind of gives you an idea of what all is available for you, most of the Google fonts and then some that you can basically find from Google Font directory.

And you can add additional things such as elements to do lines, shapes, icons, charts. So I'm going to go ahead and do a chart real quick. And there you go. And the nice thing is, is that you can even edit these as well. So again, you can make it smaller, larger however you need to in terms of you know, is item one larger is item two larger and you can actually get really cool things going with all of these different types of choices. I mean, I could literally Go inside of Canva for hours, just kind of showing you all the cool things that are in here.

But rather than do that, rather have you guys just kind of go around and see for yourself. Like I was saying, if you want some nature, there's a nature photograph right there, you could do the exact same thing. Come right here snaps in place. Now, as you can see right here, I wanted to quickly do this for you. If anything falls behind. Once you snap to it, it'll naturally come forward.

The only thing that doesn't work with his images. So I'll use, click on it snap forward. And then the other thing that you'll want to do is to make sure by a range here, when you click on a range, you want to bring it forward and bring it forward will make sure it sticks on top. Same thing would happen. If we clicked on this we can bring this forward But what I'm gonna also do is show you that you can also change the opacity or the transparency of your image. So if it's a little too dark, you can make it lighter.

Just like that. And now that black text will stick out much better. So, with all of that, that's kind of how you go about creating the most generic branding for a marketing image. But let's go ahead and go one step further. And I want to show you kind of how to go through and edit a YouTube thumbnail, where people are talking about things in a linear fashion where it's sequential. Every week, we're coming back and we're opening mail or something like this.

So here's one of mine that I made for one of my clients. His series is called breaking bank works all about inside the financial industry, how to get out of debt. Really great stuff. I love all the stuff that he makes. So here, all I've done is something very simple, very simple. This is where he's gonna pay me, you know, $5 per video to make one of these, so I'm not gonna put much time into it.

But again, I don't need much time inside of Canva. And for what he knows, I may be spending, you know, hours on this, or at least 20 or 30 minutes, which is pretty good for a graphic designer nonetheless. So I come in here, I'm going to have one side be one color, one side be the other color. What this is going to do is differentiate. Here's the image that I want to attach with this video. Maybe it's a picture of the presenter.

Maybe it's a picture of different things that the video has to deal with. Maybe this for example is working with indigent people. So indigent usually means people who don't make a lot of money or they need you know, financial help. So what's the series name breaking bank we write the episode number this is about all the changes will change the episode number to 18 Now we'll name it you know how to your race. Oops, sorry, your credit debt. So there we go just like that, we'll switch it out.

We can find something like credit card. If we want to search inside of here, just go inside of this search bar, press Enter credit, and different images will pop up. So this might be a good one, for example, we may want to just do a generic credit card like that. So may do something like this. If we don't want that. I actually like this one.

I know you're thinking, well, how's this going to work? Well, this is pretty easy. All you're going to do is stretch it out. Stretch it out, and instead of bringing these things forward, you're going to click arrange and you're going to push them back One, and you're just going to keep doing that I'll delete this one. You're gonna keep doing that until it's at the back. One more.

And there we are. So now we have the image looks very professional, I'm going to click on it once more, we're going to just align it a little bit. And there we go. And that's how you have a professional looking image that can be instantly used as a template to produce 1234 or five, you know, within a few minutes of time. So this is kind of my little hack to make social media graphics. If you do it for yourself, you're a one man band, I get it, you got to wear a lot of hats.

This is the way that you want to do it. You want to make sure that you're talking about whatever you talk about. However you talk about it, the easiest way it is to record it, and then make a graphic like this. And it really helps people understand Okay, these are these breaking bank up. So it's these times where he's just podcasting and talking about the credit industry. Now you He also has another series where he talks about how to increase your credit, you know, get better credit cards, you know, literally live on credit cards and off of the benefits that each of them give.

And it's kind of a cool thing to see him go through and teach people how to pay one credit card with another and they both give benefits to each other. And it's, it's a cool thing. So for that, we may have a different template and we'll move over and we'll have instead of breaking bank, I forget what the new series he started is called, but we'll just call it you know, the credit master and credit master episode one we'll go over. And again, same thing, just dragging, dropping, making a quick, simple edit like this. We don't want that image. For example, we're going to have whatever his brand color is usually the episode number.

And from there, we're going to put in something like this. And that looks a little too kind of nice. So we're gonna we're gonna put it off are a little bit right, that makes it look a little better. And just like that, we're done, we already made another graphic, all we got to do is edit whatever the title is, and the episode number. So again, these things can go very fast, you can make a lot of money by reaching out to YouTube, or fan pages on Facebook, or, you know, you have Instagram users where you can help make you know, posts like this once a week where you know, they pay pretty good on Instagram as well. So whole these different places, you just reach out to these individuals and say, hey, how do you like some of these images that I made even make one for them that's just like this.

And you can just change out their stuff and go, how do you like you know, take the first one on me for free. If you enjoy it and you like the way it looks inside of your channel, come back to me I make them for five bucks, you know, per video or 10 bucks per video or whatever you want to charge. Most people on YouTube if they don't have, you know, kind of At least 10,000 to 20,000 subscribers, they're not probably going to pay for it. That's just an FYI. Same thing when it comes to fan pages if they don't have, you know, at least about 50,000 likes to their fan to their page, they're probably not going to be wanting a social media or image designer for their social medias. So all of this all in all, again, very quick and simple, easy to make.

All you got to do is create a template and work from there. And then the rest is gravy.
