After the user interface, now we move on to something more complicated is creating platforms for to the platformer game. So this is very basic key game. But creating these assets is the first step to creating more complex ones like backgrounds and full characters. And also here we will go back to the basics what we learned in the first seven, eight lessons. So using groups, objects, colors, gradients and everything to create our small objects. And in the this lesson in the coming two lesson, we will create a very simple platform and then we will modify it to have several different platform from one.

Let's start. So, I usually just create a basic shape First, it can be grass covered by platform. Give it a nice gradient. And then as it is a floating platform, I give it a base. I send it to the back and then make it look like stone or actually ground. What I do now is I create different lighter shades on it as it is, you know, torn away or broken on the bottom.

So you wanted to have this very simple platform. Of course, it's not ready, I can, what I usually do when I create something in Inkscape. And I think you should get too used to this map too, is that I always duplicate what I do. So I say what I have now, and so I don't lose it. And then if I'm not sure how I wanted next, but I might want to come back to this version, I just duplicate and they put this next or under it. This helps me to be creative. I do the same when I create logos or icons. I do the same when I create platforms or characters. I keep the previous versions because I have plenty of space and escape to do it. And it helps me to be creative and go back to the previous version if I need to. So I'm not why I made this duplication, I always make a duplicate, when I'm not sure why I made this now is because I think it's better if this one is higher.

So, if this one is actually you know, not this, this big on the bottom, I can give some floating dots. And the same the same with some broken away parts. From the distant it looks like it's a floating platform. And what else I can give it to is, of course, if it's grassy, I don't want to draw individual pieces of grass because why would If it's a cartoony game with the platform I don't need to think about Super Mario the platforms are shiny shape like this more or less around the edges around edgy the rectangles so it's very friendly toy looking actually what I want to create some grass I just click with the Bezier tool match it to the edge of it so it looks like it has a bit of ogre overhanging grass and I can do the same he looks like a weird hairdo, but know what I mean?

So if I look at a small it's it looks a bit more random. And also here on the top, I can give some brush of grass. Because it's a good gradient, I pick color from the part of the gradient I need. So for example, for this one, it needs to be this high. Then I can modify this gradient, so you see it's seamless. And this one is very light, it's not at all off.

So I can create a gradient in it. This is how you match an object to the gradient of the object next to that just get the colors. I'm just saying undecide. I can imagine my character jumping onto this platform and jumping onto another one pom pom pom pom, so it's a very easy to set up also you will see as we create further on background and the character and plot forms and everything, all the little details, it's very easy to put together hold a look in Inkscape. So even play out how it would look in this version in this version, how it would look in a landscape or portray on a mobile device.
