We're going to start by laying down or figures. If you've drawn along with me for any of the other classes, you'll know we first start with to kind of trap avoidable shapes like this. The larger one at the top is going to be her chest area and this will be her hip area off of this and then leave a little gap in between they should be tilting away from each other like so. And off this hip, we will draw her first leg sort of a rounded shape down to where the knee is where it dips in and then another rounded shape for her calf. A little ball at her ankle. Same thing on the other side.

And our legs can be tilting a little bit away from each other. The second leg is basically just like the first and there we have it. As you go make your pencil line fairly light. We will be using watercolor to finish these illustrations. So you don't want it to show through just draw very lightly as you go. There's her neck, and then her head shape should be kind of rounded at the top with a square jaw line like so.

And then from here, we'll draw her shoulder down to the elbow and then round out down to the rest And you don't have to fully draw the hand just an indication of the hand. And that's it. Now, her right arm will be what is holding the floaty so I'm going to draw the outline of the floaty first and then we'll go back and draw that arm around it. So big kind of oval shape here and then she'll be going through the center Don't worry if it's not perfect. This is all for fun and you won't really see anything behind the floaty. So I'm going to take away those lines now.

And then the head of our Flamingo will be here. curvy line up and around. Like so going to draw a bill on and the little cheek This is really I will go, I'll be a big circle, a smaller circle and one little circle in the center when we start to color this in this middle circle will be black. That's the iris of the eye. And then we want to draw on these little shapes at the bill and this is made out of plastic. So you're going to see kind of these little ripples.

So go back in and anywhere you think there should be a ripple kind of give it Just here and there. A little space like this, there would definitely be one here and here. also going to make a shape like this to remind myself leave it white. That's where we'll paint in the glare. And here there's the seam where it's connected. And then there will also be a seam where the plastic runs around about here and more wrinkle lines right.

This bottom line should be very smooth and even. That is not a place that will wrinkle as much. It's just a visual bottom edge of the floaty. Good All right, so let's have her arm come down around this way. And her elbow is going to be right here and we're just going to see her arm dipping around it. In fact, we might have to make it a little more squished here.

So it really looks like she's holding the floaty tap her little fingers look like they're wrapped around the inside. Just work in general shapes. Don't worry about the detail of her fingers yet. I'm just going to make one big block and a thumb. We'll put the detail in when we add the paint. I am erasing any lines we probably don't need here or don't Want to see and then we'll put on her swimsuit.

Let's just make a curved line up. Generally, this is where her belly button will be top of her swimsuit and just align up and over for her strap. Be mindful the curve the edges around the body. And then we'll do kind of a color block swimsuit today. So I'm going to draw on the lines of that. Feel free to make up your own.

But just add in some lines where we can color block Let's give her some sunglasses. It's going to do some shields sunglasses like so. They should end a little bit on the outside of her face. Draw in some lips and some hair. She will have long beachy hair. You'll notice I didn't really illustrate the lips all the way just an indication of where they will be is fine.

Okay, there's figure one, and then figure two we will put right next to her. Same idea. Here my little trap is doing shapes. Larger on the top, smaller on the bottom. Going to draw a leg And her other leg and maybe that's swung away like so. Her neck should be over her center of gravity which is typically between her feet.

So right here, same head shape. I'll give her the same glasses. Feel free to pause this and take your time. And anything you don't like you can go back and work on. It's fine to just erase it started over going to take another shot at her lips. Okay, and just a little indication of where her bus line is.

And this pool buddy will be holding a drink. So her hands will be up like so I'm going to draw the drink in first and then we'll draw the hand around it. So stem the glass, little circle for the bottom edge and then an oval at the top like so. And let's give her a lemon wedge. just erase those inner lines we don't need so we can really draw out our wedge shape. And maybe a cherry, why not?

And a straw and we'll see that through the train just right down there. Okay, so now for her hand. I'm just gonna put our fingers like that, and then her thumb can be behind the glass. Draw lightly. This will make more sense when we paint over it. Good.

For other arm. It's gonna drop Up down by her side. All right, and then at this point you can draw in her swimsuit. The swimsuit bottoms, just curve them around the body and I'm also going to drop in a few balls, just round circles here. There'll be a big one, a little circle for the top of the beach ball. And then these radiating lines away from it like so.

And maybe there's another little beach ball here and one here. So that will be in front of her foot and we won't see that. And there you have the first layer and the general shape for our ladies
