Welcome to all you amazing artists out there.

Professional artists, hobby artists, creative people who just like making stuff, art students, anyone who loves and makes art. I'm so happy to have you here. My name is Jacqui and I am delighted to be working with you to develop some amazing skills to help teach art to kids.

You're going to learn what to teach, and also very importantly, how to teach. The first few modules of this course cover how to teach and the later modules focus on what to include in the classes. I start off with the how, because in some ways it's the most important part. If you get that bit right then you're 90% on the way to being a brilliant teacher, the rest will just happen.

This first half is so important. Most people don't teach it and just cover what sort of art activities to do. I know from personal experience through hiring teachers, that the artists that have the skills we cover in the first half of this course are much better teachers. And much happier teachers.

So please go through every section. Even if you don't need everything we cover right now, you will later on in your teaching, so starting with all the skills upfront will make things much easier for you in the long term. Just to give you some extra treats, however, while you're working through the first half, I'm going to send some surprise videos to your inbox with more arty stuff. so keep an eye out.

I have loved every second of my year's teaching and making art with kids, and I greatly look forward to sharing that wealth of knowledge with you during this course.
