Lesson 2: Developing trust - The cornerstone to effective relationships.
One of the key characteristics of a mutually satisfying and successful relationship is trust. In many situations, I have been brought in either to help resolve broken relationships or to help develop strong and effective relationships where building, sustaining, and restoring trust is a goal. How do we go about building trust? Does it just happen because we want it to? Or because we like who we are with?
Let us examine this model below for some of these answers.
Look at the first building block, making and keeping agreements. This begins with establishing a common purpose and mutual expectations for the relationship. We have covered this in more depth in modules 1 and 2, and we will further develop our understanding in this module. We are referring to making and keeping commitments.
