The SOT tool rearranges a set of records in a table based on a certain field, usually by ascending or descending order from A to Zed Zed to a, or zero to nine nine to zero. As illustrated in the slide here, the first picture has our example HR file. The second picture shows us dragging in the sort tool and sorting salary by ascending order. And a third picture shows us the results of running our workflow. Let's start a new workflow by opening spreadsheet 2.3 we'll go to the inner tab dragging our input data tool and connect to 2.3 SOT We have our example HR file ready to go and note the order of records in salary. Let's go to the preparation tab and drag it and how sought tool and in the configuration pane on the left, we have our List of fields to sort by and we'll select salary and we can also set the order we want to see them in.
Let's choose ascending. Press the run workflow button or use Ctrl r on your keyboard and we can see that our salary has been sorted by ascending order.
