What's the perfect number of PowerPoint slides in a PowerPoint presentation? People ask me this all the time, they're expecting me to say, well, it's 10 or it's three or it's 27? The answer is, it's the perfect number that your audience remembers, if they can't remember your slides, even if you only have two slides, you have two too many. On the other hand, if you have 117 slides and your audience remembers all 117, then the perfect number for you was 117. Now I have a hard time remembering anytime an audience remembers more than a handful of slides. So be very, very careful if you have more than that.
And again, as with all of these tips, test doesn't matter what I think. Doesn't matter what you think doesn't matter what's easy for you to store your notes. What matters is what does The audience actually understand and remember, if they're not remembering it, the slide is worthless. throw it in the trash can or give it as a handout. email it to the but don't project it.
