DESCRIPTION: RIR refers to how many reps you should leave in the tank. You rarely ever want to be maxing out. It'll burn you out and isn't sustainable. You need to be able to recover from your workouts. Always keep 2-3 reps left in the tank, and work your way up from there. Once you hit two weeks that you can't properly recover from, take one week to de-load at 50% set volume, and start a new mesocycle fresh.
