DESCRIPTION: Unit 1 Billund is a town in Jutland, also known as the home of the LEGO Group head office, equipped with a LEGOland theme park and a waterpark with a tropical aquadome. I was there back in June 2008 and enjoyed an exclusive tour of the Lego factory and its magical wonderland. I saw how bricks and minifigures are made. How they store them in a giant 65-foot-high Lego cathedral controlled by robots (yes, it felt like I was in a Willy Wonka scene). Then, I visited their museum house &ndash; the original family home of the company founder &ndash; which has some of the best and most famous Lego sets in history on display.
It appears that in Billund, Denmark, everything is awesome. Even everything underneath the ground. It was under the house where I was given exclusive access to the Holy Grail of Nostalgia; a high-security, not-so-secret vault containing (almost) every Lego set in history.
