However, the topic of gratitude is so important that it bears a special focus. After all, the universe rewards gratitude; and punishes self-pity. Think about it. If you were to do something nice for a person, and he or she didn't bother to thank you, how would you feel? Would you want to do more nice things for that person, even if he or she didn't bother to take the time to say thank-you? However, what if instead, that person takes the time to show true appreciation, or sends you a thank-you note? Likely, then, you would want to do more nice things for that person.
