Focusing on accomplishments improves self-esteem. Now, we just discussed the fact that you shouldn't dwell the past. However, there is one big caveat to that. You should not dwell on the negative past. Ironically, one of the most effective and therapeutic exercises to building your self-esteem is to focus on all the good things you have done in your life. One of the best exercises you can do, to quickly improve your confidence and psyche, is to take out a piece of paper and write out at least 10 of your top accomplishments. These accomplishments can be work-related or personal. When you focus on your strengths, you foster the opportunity to build more. Plus, many of your accomplishments will also serve as a foundation for you to sell yourself throughout your job search. So, don't be bashful. Celebrate your accomplishments. There are many places to look in your life for accomplishments Maybe, you were a great achiever on the job, or in school. Perhaps, you have a wonderful spouse....
