So now we're moving into the heart chakra. The Heart Chakra is the first of the four upper chakras, and it's located, as you guessed it in the middle of your chest, which I call the heart center. The Heart Chakra governs the heart, the thymus gland, and your immune system, plus your lungs, breasts, arms and hands. The Heart Chakra relates to the physical heart, the lungs, your shoulders, breath, thymus, circulatory system, and it affects the extent to which you love, hate, grieve, live in balance, hang on to hope, experience, loneliness, compassion, and have the ability to give and receive unconditional love. The big one. This is where the physical and the spiritual come together.

So as a reminder, remember the first three chakras are all about I, me, the individual, and the upper chakras, which is started starts with the heart chakra are all about we, if we aren't grounded in the eye, the me, we will have a more difficult time communicating and connecting with others, whether it's with friends, colleagues, or an intimate relationship. As we look at your life, whether you're looking at it from some time in your past, or currently in your present, you may have been at a place or currently at a place where you don't feel grounded, supported, nurtured, confident, creative, connected, or willful just to name a few. If you are shaky in just some of the areas I mentioned, you can see how these foundational pieces don't lend themselves to interact unhealthy ways with others or yourself. But just so you know, every single one of us goes through this several times in our lives at various ages and situations.

But at midlife, it seems that it's exacerbated even more. So when you start to question and worry about where you are, and how you're feeling and the uneasiness you're having, just know you're right where you're supposed to be at this time in your life. So how is your heart chakra actually functioning? How is it imbalanced or out of balance? So if your heart chakra is open and balanced, you feel compassion, acceptance, there's a kindness. You're easily more friendly and forgiving.

You're more in service to others. You're centered and content and you have the ability to not only receive love Forgive love. However, if your heart chakra is imbalance with either too much or too less or not enough of what it needs, you could experience respiratory disorders, low autoimmunity, be prone to lung and heart problems. So I'll pause here for a moment. If you think about it, when someone has had a heart attack, it's just that it's an attack of the heart. Even though there is for sure a medical component, there is always an emotional one as well.

So if you're watching this, and you're the one who's had the heart attack, or there's a loved one that you know, has had a heart attack, what has that person or you possibly not felt loved in your life, or maybe you haven't been able to love freely without fear. Or maybe you were this other person has held so much hurt from something that is deeply affected you in their life, that all can be created, or that all can be in the middle What causes heart attack. Other imbalances in the heart chakra included fear of rejection and intimacy. When you experience loneliness, grief, jealousy, maybe you're easily hurt. Or maybe you're dependent on love and affection from others, or you've become a people pleaser or a martyr. You could become cold and distant, or have a lack of empathy and be critical or intolerant.

I believe in when I've seen both personally and professionally, is that we weave in and out of balance and imbalance of love, loss, grief, joy, and all of the imbalances that we experienced with the heart chakra. That's why it's important not to push down, minimize or ignore what your heart is trying to say to you. The longer things pile up, especially the emotions, the harder It gets to plow through it all, and the better chances you have of illness. And here we are in Second Life. Things accumulate more in Second Life, illnesses, injuries, but emotions accumulate the most. How much have you been hurt?

How much have you pushed down? the thick of it? When you're in your second act? Are you grieving because a loved one close to you has died? Or have your kids left the house? Are you grieving because they're not there anymore?

You don't know your role? Or you're grieving because there's a lack of love, intimacy, and connection in your personal relationship. Are you grieving because there isn't somebody in your life, there isn't a lifelong partner. So you see how all of these emotions add up to really causing issues in the heart chakra. So really, really think about take the time right now to think about what is your heart holding inside for you? Listen to it.

So as we move on, let's cut Take a look at what are the emotions that are connected to the heart chakra. So these emotions are the basic right to love and be loved. grief, compassion, and empathy. So what do I mean by the basic right to love and be loved? You may be thinking to yourself, everyone deserves to give and receive love. Yes, but how many times does someone not feel lovable, or worthy of love, unless they look perfect, behave a certain way, sacrifice themselves have the perfect way, look a certain way make a certain amount of money and are successful The list goes on and on and on and on and on.

And on the flip side, you may believe that others don't deserve your love, because they are treating you exactly how you think they should be treating you They are perfect and fulfilling your needs. Or maybe you are given messages as a child, as to when, where, how love is supposed to be given and received. Most often it is with rigidity and unrealistic boundaries. So I'll stop here for a moment. Because this is a big one. Think about how you grew up.

Think about what was modeled for you. Think about how you watched love being given love being taken away. Love being rigid, love being open, we learn so much of what we see, and also what is done for us or to us or with us as children. And as we get to the second act of life, so many things could change as to where we are with love, love for ourselves, love for each other, love with humanity, loving the world. So as we move from that, let's talk about Another big emotion which is grief. And the second act of life, there's a lot more grief because we've been through a lot more loss.

So remember, grief isn't always about someone physically dying. Grief can occur and look very differently in a variety of situations. loss of a job, loss of a person, whether it's death or they left you loss of an animal loss of a time in your life. Lots of which you didn't get from your childhood and will never receive loss of your parents, or loss of what your parents never could do for you and still can't do for you. Loss of a significant other or friend. And this list can go on and on.

So you see, grief can create huge roadblocks in your path and stop you from moving forward until you face and feel the emotion of grief. So as we move from the emotions, let's look at possible health issues that are associated with the blocked Heart Chakra. Some of those are cancer, high blood pressure, of course, heart problems, thymus, blood issues, circulatory system issues, and involuntary muscle movement. So in the next segment, we'll go over how to unblock and balance your heart chakra. But before we do again, take the time to sit down and connect with Where is my heart today. How does my heart Love?
