This is lesson number four in the iOS Terminator writing for aisles series of lessons. Today we're going to talk about pie graphs is probably the easiest part of the problem writing part one. If you get a pie graph, it's very easy to do. This is what they look like. And this is how they will be presented to you on your exam paper. So, a pie chart is always the circle that is divided into pieces, like slicing a pie, or a cake.

That's why it's called a pie chart like a pizza pie. Okay, just like that. The slices have been spoken about as percent or 100. To complete circle the only real trick with pie graphs is whether we use the word percentage or percent with them. That's it. If you learn how to use these two words and you will very quickly, this is a very short lesson, you will become the master of the pie graph.

Here is the rule, when to use percentage and when to use percent percent comes the same comes after a number. percentage comes in words like Ah this, that, and so on, and is often preceded by an adjective or has an adjective in front of it. For example, a high percentage of customers bought and both go with the preposition of a percentage of 20% of. So let's have a look at this one, which is the one we started out with. You see a pie graph dealing with Bob's music store and the sales and we will get in the exam table like this to complete. What we have to do is obviously fill in the words Of course, in the exam, it might be a little more complicated than this.

But this gives us a very good idea of what we can what we have to do. Take a look at the pie, we see 60% DVDs 20% PC games, 15% CDs, 5% posters. If you add them up, you'll see they come to 100. So let's have a look at this and see if you can do this exercise. You could pause the video so that you can write out what you see here. And then try to fill in the details.

Remember, all you're really doing is deciding whether to put percent or percentage. If you rely on the rules that I just gave you, you can't go wrong. Okay, let's have a look to see what you put. And let's see if we agree. According to the chart, neat, neat neat of shops sales DVDs. Well, we know it's 60 cent, so we'd have to put 60% of the two CDs.

To see these are the the blue ones account for a much smaller something of sales of the rules. So it has to be percentage. Numbers three while PC games account for Have the stores sales of CDs sold is only 15 we're getting complicated here well PC games account for well let's have a look PC games 20% of the stores sales, the something of CDs sold is only 15. Remember the rules percentage. Now we get a little more creative posters represent the something of goods sold. Here's where we do have to use their brain elected.

So how about posters Are they the biggest sells the smallest sells? What do you think? posters represent the smallest percentage of Goods Sold? If you answered this correctly, you've done well. Here's just a little point to think about. When we're writing up to 10%.

We usually write the word 6%. For example, After 10, we use the number. Now, if you don't do it that way, there's no bad result. It's just that that is common practice. And if you do it correctly, the examiner really thinks you're pretty good. So, if you got this right, so there is you are now a master The pie graph.

Congratulations. We'll
