Pre-firing involves shooting your opponents before you actually see them, and no, I’m not talking about hacking. 


By hearing audible footsteps and the noises from the abilities, as well as callouts, you can shoot at an angle before the enemy shows themselves/peeks. Say, for example, my teammate calls out that someone is coming, I can start shooting there in anticipation that my enemy will come and run into my bullets.


This allows for a quick kill before the enemy is able to react.


Especially useful when flashed or about to be flashed (Phoenix, Breach, Reyna). After you get flashed, it’s always worth throwing out a few extra shots before you fall back.  Most players, after they flash in, expect their opponents to be blinded, and run out immediately after the flash. If you’re holding an angle and know where they’re going to run out from, you can throw a few bullets there while you’re flashed and fall back afterward, giving you a chance at a free kill when they...
