Finding a location. Unless you're having inviting only your personal friends, it's probably not a good idea to have it in your home. And never post your address on any of the online sites. For security reasons you don't want to be giving out your address to people you don't know. coffee shops are an easy find. But choose one that's not too noisy are busy.
You want not only appeal to hear each other, but to have space to break into smaller groups. Once you start to read. We always break into smaller groups once we start to read the cards. But to begin with, we're talking to the whole group. So we want to have a space where we can be heard easily, and then we've got space to move apart as we go. Our best locations because they're quieter and less Busy, have been in the coffee shops of recreation centers, golf clubs, luxury hotels, and grocery stores that have coffee shops.
Yes, really, that's where we go. Truly fancy golf clubs and top notch hotels. We just go along, we buy a tear coffee, sit down and start our meeting. We've never had any problem whatsoever. After all, we're just a group of people chatting over coffee. We do try to go to the edge here or not sit right in the middle of it go to around the outside of the coffee shop or the area or city.
So we don't disturb everybody else. But we just go in there and nobody has ever complained. In the Rec Center, we did ask permission. We were welcome to come and each week we found table set out especially for us and we still go to that place. It's an absolutely wonderful occasion. If you find one location allows you to come but isn't welcoming.
We had one like that. Just move on to another one. Unless you live in a very small town, there are probably plenty of options out there. We went to one, it was actually a golf club. And we did ask and they said, yes, you're welcome to come. But the staff or anything, we're welcoming, really rather hostile.
So we just decided, Okay, there are other places here. We left and we went somewhere else. One thing to note, we always include in our advertising, our requests for our attendees to buy something to eat or drink. Since all of our locations to date have been in food service places is only reasonable. They are businesses giving us space in return for us buying something to consume. And that's quite an important issue.
Takeaway. Anywhere group of people can get together and chat and it's not too noisy or busy is a potential location. All you need is chairs and a table. Your payment for that is buying a beverage or a treat
