Some thoughts on what I have found through running the group. We started with a group of people, many of whom had never looked at a tarot card before. To begin with in the small groups, the group leaders were doing most of the talking. But after a couple of months, everyone was participating and seeing what they saw in the cards and offering alternative interpretations. You members arrive, and if new to Tarot, they're usually a bit quiet for the first little while, but soon find the courage to join in. Since the group is totally non judgmental, no interpretation is wrong, just different.

I did one send out an email to all people who had attended the previous week's meeting. Say as I mentioned before, no books absolutely Internet because there was one person reading books all the time and another head was reading off the elephant app on his phone. And also on the same email I mentioned that if you have extensive experience in Tarot this group is probably not for you had that was because someone had done a two year Tarot course. And she was treating her meeting as an opportunity to show all she knew she was the expert. She was telling us and no one was allowed to say anything else because she knew everything. So that got rid of her.

She didn't come back after the email, which is a shame. I mean, maybe she would enjoy one for more advanced Tarot readers. But she didn't fit into our group at all. This loss does one member who really wanted to use an app and the member who knew everything, but other people who had been reading books, decided no, it's a good idea to do it intuitively. We won't read them. Books and they tried to do it the way we wanted.

And everybody's happy then we only lost the one member who was using the app, and the one who knew everything she didn't come back. But the rest of the group was much happier and creative without them. So it's worth the acts of having to send the email. And I was so fully supported by everyone else in the group that it made the recruit closer than before.
