These are the categories of the tools and techniques that are in pm book version three. The first one is data gathering we have nine tools and techniques part of it. Then we have data representation. We have 15 tools and techniques part of it, interpersonal and team skills 17 communication skills to data analysis the more one of the most important 27 decision making to an ungroup 16. The reason for grouping them in this in these categories are that when we are talking about data gathering, we are talking of tools and technologies which will help us in listening, which will help us in gathering the information which will help us in gathering the requirements which will help us in understanding the stakeholders when you are doing a data representation these are mostly related to the outputs that we would be using to communicate with our sub stakeholders with our team with the project management, interpersonal and team skills are the core of any project manager.

This is how we are going to communicate with our team, with stakeholders with our management with emo with steering committee with others, other people or other stakeholders around us, it is us the soft skills it is us the emotional quotient of our personality or as the PMI says emotional intelligence. Then we have a communication skills. How we are going to communicate the data and as a skill are is obviously data analysis tools and techniques are obviously the most important one because we are supposed to analyze the data before submitting it for any data representation and all the data gathering which is in the raw form cannot be represented just based on whatever you have got you have to analyze you have to see various analysis trend analysis, alternative analysis, earned value analysis, so, many things you have to do before you as a project manager will able to decide that how and what should be the next course of action you are an analyst You are a manager who is active who always deals and takes decisions when he has enough data or a convince convincing case with him.

Then you have a decision making decision making are two very important techniques and it is very important when it comes to requirement gathering supporting of requirement. It is very important when you want to take this It is very important when you are in contracting, it is very important the decision making, when you are in luck between two people when they have competing requirements when they have competing opinions when they are conflict of interest.
