DESCRIPTION: Back in the 1960s, American psychologist Thomas Anthony Harris published his ground-breaking self-help manual &ldquo;I&rsquo;m Okay, You&rsquo;re Okay.&rdquo; It has to date sold tens of millions of copies.
In his book, Harris outlines the four basic positions that we can take in our interactions with others.

I&rsquo;m okay, you&rsquo;re not okay.
I&rsquo;m not okay, you&rsquo;re okay.
I&rsquo;m not okay, you&rsquo;re not okay.
I&rsquo;m okay, you&rsquo;re okay.

Narcissists tend to be stuck in the first perspective. Those with low self-esteem in the second. Pessimists are in the third. Those who are psychologically healthy use the fourth.
These perspectives are the basic, or default, frame of mind that we are in as we begin an interaction with another.
