DESCRIPTION: Giving as well as Taking, is characteristic of human life that we can “frame” the events that go on around us in many ways. For example, some of us have learned to perceive ourselves frequently as the “loser” or “victim” in whatever happens. Others perhaps see themselves very frequently as “misunderstood” or “judged” by the world.
Sometimes these ways of seeing the world are resolved into a pair of complementary frames. We will be looking a just such a pair of frames in this module.
The frame that the Narcissist is most likely to use in life is that of perceiving that everything that is happening is happening to, or for, them. They see themselves at the absolute center of the world. The whole planet is their resource and is there for them. Why shouldn’t they just do as they please? Surely that is what the world is there for?
