Hello, and welcome back. So we've gone through our paper trace overlays, we came up with design approach, also we took into consideration to form composition. And what we did up until now is called the layout plan. So now we are starting coming up with ideas to produce a conceptual plan. So we're getting closer to have something to be able to go to the client. But before that, there is also a couple of steps that we have to do.

And so the first one is a conceptual planting plan. So at this point, I'm looking at how I can use plants to reinforce my design solutions. And this means not specific plants are not identified species, but plants that will reinforce your ideas. For example, you want to create movement. So you you be thinking about we put in Low hedging on each side of the path to lead people down, and also maybe using dynamic pattern in your paving to reinforce that idea. And you can also specify the size of the plants, let's say low hedging, or this size of hedging, and etc.

So now I can come back from a meeting with a client. And I have this plan already idealized in my mind. So I can actually throw a lot of plants out of the window, because we're not going to use them and just focus on the ones that have been planned and also agreed on. So this is gonna save me a lot of time. So the conceptual plan is from designer standpoint, so you can come in and say, Hi, Miss Mrs. Smith. This is what I came up with.

This is my idea. And you explain all your design thinking behind it, and they say great, we love it. Let's go for it. Or maybe they say we We're not really keen on the form of hygiene or the look of form of hygiene. So in that case, you know what you're working with, you know what to concentrate on, and refine your ideas and maybe replace it with something looser. So this is the idea of it being conceptual.

So let's look at some example of a conceptual planting plan. Here we have some trees, a couple of smaller trees or bushes. And I also have a tree in the corner. I have some little spiky plants, and I wanted something that would punctuate location and then just some mass planting everywhere else. I'm not being specific, but I'm thinking, I want this to serve a purpose for screening for shade for some color, maybe something to extend the entry in and so on. If the client asks, What are these trees are going to be?

It's perfectly okay to say I don't know yet as it's all coming. At the moment, and it's not important, it gives you a chance also to ask for any favorite plants maybe right now all you want to do is get your ideas on the paper. You can also call it a plan, it helps it to pop off the paper. And it's also better for the client to understand. And we're going to talk about this in the next lecture. But right now, let's have a look at the plant graphics first.
